Herminator,

Put the spur gear on the other side of the adapter. This not only allow better contact with regular pinion gears, it also allows you to see the gear mesh a lot better. I had a little bit of spur problem in the beginning as well, but once I did this little mod. I haven't strip a spur gear since I also mentioned it in the supplement sheet that you got with the kit.

Also, I posted a lot of articles in the building tips page of the www.alexracingusa.com website. Check them out when you guys get a chance

I can't see any new building tips
refreshed several times

I saw the bit about the spur gear in the suppliment but from what I can recall it said it's an option depending on your pinions, I should of paid more attention and actually looked at where the spur gear sat in relation to the motor

Hope you have those parts online when I wake up in the morning, might be able to get a second diff in time for next week then no hurry though

Hi,

Another building tip or a FYI is that it maybe a good idea to use some LOCKTITE on the bottom chassis screws when mounting the front and rear bulkheads. I noticed mine came loose after a couple of battery packs were run through it.

And Dave is right (what else is new) with the HPI springs and I used the 27mm and the 29mm ones without any problems and really liked them.

Hermanator, have you played with rear droop to help offset the problems you incurred with the front one-way?

Mike

Herminator,

You can't see them? It's on the left hand menu bar, 8th button down. Depending on your screen resolution, you might have to scroll down.

still no new tips

I use 1152x864 resolution, all I get is the old

The building process of a race winning machine is
often hurried through and details are over looked. In
this page, we will share some of the speed secrets
that we obtain from pros over the years, so you can
construct your machine to provide the best on track
performance as possible.

thats it

Herminator,

I'm not sure why I checked it on 4 computers and I have no problem accessing it. Are you using explorer? You might have to clear your cache files...I'm not sure, not too much of a computer guy myself, but I knot it's on there.

Dave will probably know this, whats the strength of the kit springs? they look suspiciously like the RC Lab kit black springs, same kind of greyish black finish.

You rang

I can tell you waht the R1 comes with and I think it is the same Alex Spring #14600S or 1.4 x 6.0

this spring is a little softer than a HPI 13x25mm Blue..

Hope this helps ya'

BTW the best Alex Spring to use for almost any Asphalt Track is part #15525S or 1.5 x 5.25
