Default About springs...

I think Alex's springs come out in the brand name of Xenon, in hardness: 1.4mmx5.25turns/5.50/5.75/6.00/6.25 and also a set in 1.5mm!

It appears they were made from some excess carbon material. I believe this car was used on carpet so I'm assuming this is a typical carpet roll mod setup. I only run asphalt. Should I remove the shims??
shims are place under hexballs for kickup and anti squat...so it will depend on how you setup the car...as for me i'm using 1.5mm spacer under all 4 hexball...so basically there's no kickup and antisquat...by the way i'm no expert in setting up cars so i hope others could help you.

Hi Guys,

We've been working on a new website dedicated to the Alex Racing Design Barracuda R2, and here's the web address:

www.alexracingusa.com

It might take about 1-2 more weeks before it opens, but start bookmarking it now Also, it will be a simple website (nothing flashy) but hopefully we can provide a lot of information for the Barracuda Racers

Thanks for reading,

Xenon's are the same as Alex (Comet)

Talking Good info

Cuda's need a little TLC on the 16T & 39T gears to make the drive train smooth and spin for a long time...
For starters..... you'll need some 400~600 grit wet dry sand paper and you'll need to spend about 3 hours just removing all of the peaks on the bevel and diff gears and buy doing this you'll be able to tell just by the gear mesh and that there is less noise too!! especially if you have a Motor/shaft mount holder ( which usually makes the drive train noisy )

But with the 400( 320 is what I use less time )
start to remove a liberal ammount of material ...say about 1mm on the 39T Diff gear ....

This should take a whole Sh!t [email protected] of resistance out of the Barracudas' drive train

also a little bearing prep doesn't hurt either

Try this and let me know
BTW my cuda's on aveage can spin for about 10~14 seconds without tires !! but before all of the prep work they only spun for about 5~6 tops

is there any difference in performance if you change the suspension arms to shorter ones?

Exclamation On the R1

The R1 Needed it more so than the new R2..the Shorter arms replaced the R1's weak flexable ones that Alex has now fixed on the R2 ....The short arm setup make the car respond better and makes the R1 feel sharp and responsive

thats a nice picture should be even nicer when we can get in to the main site

I really need my cuda to chear me up now nothing better than retail therapy.

3hours sanding?

could probably create whole teeth in a blank plastic gear in that time

how about some very close up pics of the gears before and after, 1mm sounds quite a lot. Just want to make sure I get it right first time

Hi Guys,

I did the sanding thing in 10 minutes...i was very greedy and used a rougher sand paper...hehehee Seriously speaking, you might not even have to sand anything. I tried the sanding before I try different shimming of the diff, so you might not even have to sand.
