Do you mean the aluminium 16T little gears? I think it's been released for a while it costs approx. US24! Sorry, I can't remeber its brand-name...

In my point of view, his "Cuda" is quite "stock" when comparing with other Cuda racers! You will agree with me after have a look with his setting sheet!

Can someone point out the main difference between an r1 and r2 Barracuda?

I have an R1 but looking at the R2 it appears that it has more aluminium bits like the shaft holder.

Actually, the drivetrain is 'very' smooth out of the box... But you know, we desire 'perfect/ultra' smooth, so modification came out!

Hmmm... I think you can go back a few pages before to have a look at those posts posted by 'JDM'! He had pointed out those differences in details...
I think R2 don't come with aluminium shaft holder... They are sold seperately as option parts!

Fai is right the R2 doesn't come with the Aluminum center shaft holders for front and rear..!

but they are a option part that is needed... plus the R2 has 2 bearings per one vice one per one like the R1

Ahhhh yes the White teflon gears.. that were standard issue on the 1st 50 Barracuda's .... Alex never did make a replacement tefon gear for the 16T and 39T..... but there EXCEL is working on some right now...... .. Maybe June or July from what I have been told..??

Also Product "D" also has a aluminum 16T gear that I saw when I was in Hong Kong back in Nov/Dec.... at Kings Hobby...

Also Leo-Chan on this board can tell you more about them than I can...but the Aluminum gear looks to wear out really fast due to the fast that it is soft Aluminum..... if some one was to make one out of 7075 or 6061 T-6 it would last for a while
