what the heck are you doing to your one way?
I've used mine most of the time, the normal kit version which is meant to be slightly weaker isn't it? and it's working perfectly fine.

not a whole lot.... broke in the drive train for 3-4hr one day...and after that just trying to dial in the car. and I'm not even driving it hard. Made sure there's enough one-way diff lube, etc. the car's only got like 3-4 battery pack runs on it... We'll see after this Sunday's race...and give it a full work out.

Dang, I've never once had a 1 way problem. How do they fail?

Also, I've never lubed any of my 1 ways, what do you use?

Is the stock R2 w/o the pal drive system okay to run in a 19 turn class? I ran mine with a very fast 9 turn double and had no problem. Thanks.

use the black grease or Xray's one-way lube.

they must be cleaned and lubed periodically. They start to fail when one bearing starts to spin less. and when you look closely at the bearings..the bearings fall out.

Dave berger has been running BL with his R2 without a PAL, and hasn't had a problem yet. Consistantly winning with it

I really had no idea there was maintenence required with the 1 ways, but it doesn't surprize me. I have a bunch of black grease on hand, so I'll gob some onto my 1 way.

Default One-Way's

I had a one-way bearing fail in very short order on my R2, found out that the outdrive was not properly heat treated (soft), as far as lube for the one-way bearings....make sure its very light, the one-way system is at its best when its ultra FREE

I saw those soft outdrives on Ron's car. Why would they have some soft and some hardened?

i had one "soft" outdrive cup that wore in in a very short time, zxxc the replacement has been fine. running the BL and all the torque is really hard on the drive compnents, maybe the same or more than a Mod motor.

rbf - mentioned the new HARD material being used for the shaft holders - yep that could certainly eliminate the need for them in alum.

this car is just so good in basic stock configuration its hard to believe. loves to be drive hard using power!

the more i race it the more i like it
