I ask first, last year on the HPI PRO3 forum...

On the SD axles... Yes they will fit the R2.
front axles... no mod is neccessary...
Rear axles... must change to same diameter bearings and thickness. The sd bearings are thinner...they can be used but you'll have to add about 1mm of shims on each side of the bearing.

MIP CVD's will not work on the front (I'll have to double check the fit )... on the rears yes. just have to fine 42mm dogbones.

I was hoping the SD axles would fit. Now it's time to make an order with Square

Thank You RC Zombies!

KO radios have been found to be really quite badly tuned from the factory. Since you're in the UK go to rcracechat.com and PM a guy called Marcus Goultier on there, he's a mod and he tuned my radio for me, he works at a tv/radio place so has all the frequency equipment. Will also check your crystals, found one of my pairs was useless.

Yeah, and the last time you came to visit Southern California, I had a gigantic Guests house with 2 master bedrooms all tidy up and my 2002 Escalade waiting for your arrival, plus three XRAY and all to needed pit items for your to use but you didn't show.

Even told my wife Ramon was coming and to take your wife shopping at Redeo Drive.

oh well, we'll do it one of these days.

Default Built!

Ok, the car is built and is in the break-in process. Speaking of the break-in process, the whole drivetrain is noisy. Now, I do understand that a shaft car is noisy and being an R2 is one of the noisiest of the group, but this thing is down right loud! I'm just curious if this is right or is it cause by the stock 72t spur? I already did the light sanding down process of the bevel and large gears.

I need to know that shimming process your all talking about so to quite it down a bit. Also, what size spur gears are ya'll running?

Very Nice Dan...

I'll probably be done with mine tonight... shocks are all that is left.

I just noticed the tick marks on your turnbuckles... they should all be facing the same direction. either left or right...makes adjustments alot easier...
