ok so lets say i buy that web special baracuda and that i live in canada how hard would it be to get spare parts?

As far as buying a web special good luck finding one now there where only a 100 made.

now for the R2 speedtech has them in stock and parts are easily order threw them

The web specials are gone, and no more are gonna be made... Gotta wait until people start selling them used.

I dont have mine yet, but my reason for chosing the car is it's durability. Everyone says how durable the R2 is, I have owned the TC3 in the past and never thought it was very durable. I think the R2 is going to be the next big thing in RC.

Ok, i see it this way.

TC3 Introduced a competition Shaft Driven Car. It proved its effeciency by claiming numerous Titles.

Barracuda revolutionized (sp?) the competition Shaft Driven Car, But because it is unknown to more than 5/6ths of the racing community, It is just starting to claim titles.

Barracuda > (insert car here)

I definately think that is the truth. Although if you do get the Cuda, from my research you will want to get the aluminum center shaft mounts as well. Provides much more drivetrain stability, and helps the stripped spur gear problem, which is the only problem I have heard of on the R2.

2 questions about the R2

1-why does it use a right mounted motor when all the other brand have changed the motor position to the other side?

2-my concerm with the barracuda is that usually exotic brands tend to disappear and and their models have a very short life span making it hard to find parts,am i just being paranoid or is this concern founded?

I can answer your second question...

Just go to Speedtechrc.com, Steve Wang, the owner, stocks not only the Barracuda kit, but also a huge array of spare parts and hop-up parts. Everything you need really. Plus Steve himself committed himself enough to buy a Cuda and use it. I would say he stands by that descision.

Ill let the other guys answer the other one!

This isn't the first car that Alex Racing has made, nor will it be the last, I'm sure of that. They are making a kit that I know is going to make a name for itself in a big way. The reason a manufacturer drops off is because they make an unsuccessful car and nobody wants it. The Barracuda is proving itself, and once Alex Racing picks up a team of drivers that can compete with the worlds best, than Alex Racing will have a name for themselves that everyone will know.
