The car really is impressive and I had the most fun racing for an awful long time, it was nice being close to as fast as the top two instead of either being a fair bit behind or them having a bad day. Guys normaly challenging me were left for dust
Congrats Hermi' sounds like your finding out how this car is day by day at the track .. But now it looks like you need a really Hot Stock motor and some Batterys to boot

my motor is great, my cells aren't though
I'm using two packs of SMH 3000's non matched and mostly I charge the day before, a terrible techinique for metal hydrides but I often don't have time the day of the racing to charge, I just managed to squeeze in charging between heats today but wouldn't have time before the racing to do two packs. I only use around 1800mah for a race, motor is now geared as good as it will get indoors. My charger I blew up only does 5amps max charge and isn't great for metal hydrides, I was borrowing one the same for today and will be for the next couple weeks. I'm planning on getting two packs of good 3300GP's when I order a charger from Steve so I have some good cells for outdoors. When we move back indoors I'm tempted to get some older matched 2000's, the car that was blowing me away the most in the 2nd run was using 2000's and his motor is nothing special, he says the cells are a huge difference from his 3000's and it showed.

finally got it together and so the questions start

Really the only question that I have is

Is the drivetrain SUPER loud until the breakin process has been completed?

I am using a Delrin spur with all stock setup.

Thanks in advance!!

no, i was too "geeked" to run the thing...

How much sanding is needed on the gears? With fine sandpaper i assume?

Thumbs up CUDA setups...lets share

Hello DAVE...and all the rest of the CUDA gang.

Wanger, Madjack & I have been coming up with some pretty good stuff on the CUDA lately as we all run a different setup at So-cal. Just curious what you folks have found to be of use, particulary the stuff that's a bit uncharted ? ? ?

Last night at the races (admittedly the So-Cal banking is not the norm) I found that 2mm of roll center did wonders for stability with the shock positioned at the outside holes top & bottom for MAX steering. And it seems that rear anti-squat is not a friendly setup for the CUDA (too much on power steering)

Later this eve hope to have time to post latest set-up sheet.
Quick list...
Motor/Gear=Reedy Spec19T 72/28
Std springs
Toe Fr=0deg, Rr 2deg
ride height Fr=5mm, Rr 5.5mm
Sway bars Fr=1.0, Rr 1.0
Shocks=1mm holes in pistons Fr 50wt, Rr 40wt.
Diff=One-Way

So-Cal
Indoor, Asphalt, High bite with banking.
