Fai,

I was actually using Integy 40wt oil, which is similar to the Trinity. AE oils seem to be thicker than most other companies out there from what I'm told.

With a Monster Stock geared at 6.4 the car had plenty of speed on a large track.

The PAL drive system seems to have no negative impact on the car's peformance. I didn't really notice any improvements to the acceleration or top speed as a result of the upgrade so the jury is still out on the benefits of the PAL drive system. But it does look good on the car

I went with 1.5 x 5.25 springs all around and it did seem to make the car more responsive to my input but it did feel very twitchy. The rear end had too much grip which resulted in some understeer. I was also using 50wt oil all around. May need to try some sway bars on the rear.

I was using some square rear alloy hubs which seem to have no toe at all. I measured the rear toe on the setup station to be about -1 degree.

There was some bad luck at the end of the day when a bearing in the front gear box gave way causing some really weird sounds.

Haven't had much luck with bearing in either of my cars. I stuck with the stock bearings and it looks like I may need to try some better quality bearings.

Oh well will see what happens next week I suppose.

If you are using the Square rear hubs then I would tink that the rear toe is in the 1~1.5deg range Also you say that you have a tad bit of under steer..?? try going to a stiffer weight oil in the rear ...and if you need to go to a sway bar i would try the 1.2mm or 1.4mm size

Doubles work the best I think...

I my self use 8D's and 9D's...but I do have a 7Trip'

for the 8 Turns I would gear in the 7.9~9.2 Range depending on what track size and for the 9 Turns.... 7.5~8.8 Range

Well I'm back from my race night, my feet hurt darn inflamed heal pads

It was a bitter sweet night. I had my best qualifying result ever, 3rd in the A final with all of the fast guys at the track and racing. At this point I was grinning like this smilie
Then they decided to run 10 cars in a final, there's normally a lot of trouble with 8 in a final, 6 is best, the track is a reasonable size for indoors but with low grip and a range of skills below 6-7 of the best drivers, it gets messy. I started well, avoided being taken out at the first corner and kept my position, was doing well a little behind the two leaders who were having a close race and then there was a second or so behind me to 4th place and I was keeping that distance between us well. Then it came to lapping the first car and after trying to be patient around the tight infield I went to pass on the last corner before the straight, since on the straight there would be very little difference in top speed and he'd probably hit me by going to fast into the corner after the straight, so I go to make a sensible pass and I get taken out from there I had to basicly get past the whole field of cars, with that many on the track it all went downhill fast for me, another of the regular idiot drivers took me out several times as I tried to pass for position, mostly I could pass him fairly but then at the next corner he would just drive straight into the side of my car, infact at one point I got taken out and then hit head on at high speed, the front of my shell looked like it had been hit by a bullet right in the center up to half way up the bonnet the body was concaved, I had to stop to get it fixed since it seemed to be rubbing on something inside the car, which lost me another half lap, in the end I managed to finish 6th, it could of and should of been 3rd

There was less grip than last week but the car was still handling fairly well, and with the skimmed motor it was flying. I ended up using narrow mini pin tyres, they gave a little more grip than wides but would of been better with a bit more tread left on them., they gave a better balanced feel though. My first qualifier on wide mini pins was a bit of a non event, it seems another set of cells has gone to heaven second run was on wides and was ok, ver fast car but handling and my driving not great, last run on narrows got me 3rd in the A

I'm getting closer to selling my Lab, it would never have done aswell for me on a low grip night like tonight. The money will probably have to go on a set of new cells now though and some nice alloy bits for the cuda probably a good mod motor too for the club, since we move outdoors in three weeks
