Tamiya 416 perhaps?
It also comes in silver & carbon fibre.

I'd say xray FK05, except they put 4 holes to attach the front of the top plate, because of the plastic bulkheads.

BUT the wheel hubs seems totally different from a Fk05, more t2-like.

Overall it seems to be a major POS.

Even for bumming around in the street?
I have no intention of racing.

Yes even for on your street: avoid it. The reason is lack of spares with these copies and the question is if the original parts will fit.

I have thought about that, main thing I can think of would be belts.

Also, my first R/C buggy was a HSP/Himoto aka HBX and I got told it was a quality kit from my LHS..

It was a great buggy!
Anything you can suggest for 2/3s speed runs then? o.o

All the clones are pieces of rubbish, they won't take any impacts without shattering. And all the fit-and-finish of the cars are terrible. A lot of the TRF416 knock-offs came with 2 left caster blocks fitted, so positive caster on one side, negative caster on the other.....

Save your money and buy a secondhand Tamiya TA05 or Schumacher Mi3.

Yeah, I think a used modern race car would be a much better choice than a POS clone.

Listen to our advices and buy a used race car . I can picture a Associated TC3 perfect for the bashing job . It will be the same price as a new clone , but unlike the clone it will be a great car and you can be proud of it

i say buy a used corally RDX, theres a great deal on one in the for sale forums!! But im with everybody else, stay away from any clone cars, i had one and i got it not knowing all the issues with them and it had a cracked shock tower, two bent lower bulkeds and the caster blocks were on the wrong sides.
