Looking for my first 1/10 touring car. To run a 17.5 class, and open.Got my eye on Xray.Would like to know the difference between these for the price difference? Or anyother suggestions.

T3 '11 has these things that the R does not

easily adjustable Turnbuckles
aluminum rear diff oudrives
CF chassis, top deck, and towers

If it were my money I would go T3r.

Thanks just found a T3R thread....Are the parts that break the same? My LHS stocks T3 stuff. Just afraid I will upgrade anyways and have the same money into it.lol

t3r has the single point steering and t3 2011 is the dual bellcrank.

biggest difference other than that is chassis material and the fact that the t3r doesnt have turnbuckles

the t3r will have a bit more flex in the chassis than a standard t3 or t3 2011

Looking on their site. The only two things that bother me is..

Aluminum dogbones? Will they just bend eaiser?

And the turnbuckles non adjustable? Are they threaded? I see you cant put a wrench on them

I run a T3R here in Indy. It performs just as well as the 2010 T3 it's based on. I added turnbuckles (which weren't a necessity), and the chassis posts, which you absolutely need. On a high speed corner the chassis can flex so much the steering post pops out without the aluminum spacers, so I'd definately pick those up.

You can't beat that car for the price. It's great.

the T3r can be competive

The alum rear axles are fine in the rear. the front are not it your running 17.5 get the 52mm spring steel for the front. wait till you break them though. running 21.5 or 25.5 they might be ok. I got the brace standoff for the center right after the steering as a good hit might pop out the steering link. the adjustable rods are not critical I put a setup on it and left it.

I run it at club races and don't get beat offen other then by Eric Anderson.

Thanks guys alot of good info...Its totally upgradable to T3 2011? As things break or have issues.

And are the swaybars needed?

301131 is the 2011 upgrade kit for about $190 and it is full on but the sway bars. I am not running sway bars. but it does help.
