Before you rely completely on non factory advice.....get some factory advice ! Futaba is only a phone call away. A ruined radio isn't worth taking a chance on. You might find out it's better to let the experts deal with it.

I had exactly the same issue with a 2PL and imagine its a similar set up...shame as I was intending to move up to a 4PL as I already have 2 receivers but now not so sure I'd trust one!

To repair if you end up trying yourself, if its the same as the 2PL which I can't see it being much different, you'll end up with the back of the circuit board with all the screws out, trying to figure how it comes apart. You have to unsolder the 3 prong position sensor in the middle of the board, then gently remove the board. If you screw it up and break the position sensor you can replace it with one out of a standard futaba servo.

Futaba will want 70 odd bucks for the parts and whatever they'll charge for investigating and shipping, I think it'd end up being well over $100.

Also the 'stopper' mechanism may well have broken out of the case of the tranny so could well be much more than that.

Good luck, and I really didn't think I was cranking the steering that hard!!!

IF you think the Futaba is shitty quality, then you're in for a rude awakening if you're going to Spektrum..

Ko propo Euros EX-10 is the best radio I have ever owned. Even better than my 4pk. Although I liked the 4pk, its just not the same.

Mine's done the exact same thing, I don't believe it's a case of 'steering too hard' heck, I never had a cheap $20 AM radio do this, the stoppers are moulded into the case and IMO a few probably got brittle during the manufacture process, I tried a warranty repair and the Australian distributor grasped onto the 'physical damage' excuse with amazing speed (even though the diagnosis took 10 minutes, they had my radio for a week) The fact that my radio has not a scratch on it and that it's kept in a full padded case is obviously irrelevant.

The radio's are still usable, just have to be aware that if you over push the wheel it will click and over extend. It's a great radio but this is a fault that is happening more and more, and until Futaba acknowledges it could well be an inherant design fault, you're at the mercy of their warranty department, and they may well do what the Australian distributor did to me, hide behind 'physical damage' and take the easy way out.

Can't the wheel full range stopper be super glued or mickey moused to get it to stop again?
