Default Tamiya Blitzer Beetle

This r/c has been working great for over a year, but it now has a problem. When I switch the car on, the motor goes on immmediately in forward and won't shut off. Ussually this happens when the batteries are low (dead) in the controller, or when the car goes out of controller range. I've replaced the batteries in the controller - and the car is not out of range. Where do I start? Does anyone have any ideas?

Get an electronic speed control and be done with your problems.... Duratrax makes a nice one that will probably handle your needs for around $30 at towerhobbies....

On the assumption that it's the good ole Tamiya 3 step speed control you have, the only time I've had happen what you describe is when the BEC failed and let to much power get to the receiver and blew one of the channels.
