Default magnets???

has anyone ever tried to replace the magnet in a can ? and if so where would you get them from ? anyone every try the neo magnets?

Rare earth magnets (cobalt, neo, etc) aren't legal for racing, or we'd already be using them. They are legal for truck pulling and drag racing, but those motors also cost $200-300 each, due to the cost of the magnets.

Neo-mags aren't that expensive....there are many other reasons why drag motors are so pricey.

Trinity I think sells replacement magnets(or at least they did at one time)......its probably cheaper and easier to just replace the can though......

If you want a Neo Mag can, try www.neomags.com . He sells complete neomag cans.

If it's a Trinity based D4 type motor the magnets were designed to be replaceable with new ones from Trinity. They designed the motor that way if they have them in stock. The magnets need to be the same size or thickness to maintain the gap from the armature.
