Questions?? BodyPost to Velcro Conversion

Ive seen cars converted from the four body posts to Velcro panels on sheet metal.

I think all you have to do is:
Cut the posts to the right length
Cut&Bend sheet metal to right size so it sits on cut body posts
Glue the metal to the posts
Attach velcro to both attaching pieces

Is this how i should go about this?

There is a number of different ways to do it and I would prefer to use some sort of plastic rather than metal. But keep in mind most people do not do this because, while it looks nice, the body gets knocked off too easily and it is a pain to get it to center properly on the car every time.

Please note the disclaimer at the bottom of the ad...good for on the shelf or slow driving, not for racing.
