What's the advantage of this blue drive shaft over the stock black composite ?

Stronger but more rotating mass. Probably better suited for mod than spec racing

The blue aluminum shaft is stronger and heavier, but if you buy an ewhippler carbon fiber shaft, it will be stronger than the aluminum shaft and as light as the composite shafts.....I only run either the ewhippler shaft or the Niftech titanium shaft(not available anymore).....

Default LOSI LCD Parts

As I was putting together my order list for improving the durability of my new TC4 Club Racer, I decided on a whim to see if I could find the LOSI LCD's, or at least the individual parts. It was easier than I thought.

For those of you who are still looking in the US, the easy part will be the bones and rebuild kits. Those can be found from http://www.ultimatehobbies.com/ in California. They carry the LOSA3335 rebuild kits and the LOSA3346 LCD bones. The shipping will run you about $10. I ordered an extra rebuild set to make the shipping seem more affordable.

LOSA3335 Rebuild Kit, $8.95 for Packet of 2

LOSA3336 LCD Bone, $7.50 each

As of this afternoon, after I made my purchase, both part numbers are still in stock. It does not say in what quantity.

I could not find the LOSA3345 LCD Axles in stock anywhere in the US. I was going to buy from Australia, but then I found three available on Ebay from Hong Kong. I ordered (2) of them. They have (1) left. Grab it first if you want it (kind of sucks to pay shipping for just one part, though):

LOSA3345, $10 plus $6 epacket shipping

2 quick questions that I couldn't find via search:

1. Will a 550 Size motor fit in the TC4 Tub Chassis?
2. Is the stock motor mount good, or is there an aftermarket mount that's better?

JustWill75, do you have the part numbers for that conversion ? Also can I use the stock shocks with VCS2 up grade with that setup.
Thanks

MailMan,

I can't comment on the 550 motor as I can't drive with anything faster than a 21.5 (and THAT is arguable!). However, I do like the stock cam-style motor mount. I have a Factory Team car and a Diggity Designs car and I have found that fiddling with their motor mounts are a pain. I have added what I believe to be an old Trinity heat sink upper to my stock cam mount.

The tc4 tub motor cam works with my Novak HV4.5R 550 motor flawlessly... It is strong enough to handle any 550 motor easily... The tc4 is ready for the HV 4S racing class. Just fit some nitro foam tires, and you're good to go....

This is all you need

#31360 TC6.1 steering block
#31632 DCV kit
#31370 TC6.1 axel crush tubes
2 5x10x4 ball bearings
2 5x10x3 ball bearings

I chose to use the tc6.2's ball cups because there are better than what come in the TC4 kit and make it easier to do adjustments.

You can use whatever shocks you want. I use the TC6 shocks because they are what I normally use on all my TC cars so Ive gotten good at building and maintnance with them.

JW75 - Great info! Thanks for doing that research. The affordable price for the Associated parts is such that I may get those, too, just for comparison sake. I love to change out parts and experiment as much as driving.
