Default TC4 for VTA

Let me start by saying that the TC4 is a good car but I will soon have to retire it even for VTA.
Now the places I race there are almost NO Vintage Chassis in VTA. It is all Xray, TC6.2 , Maxed out Tamiya and the Occasional Awsomematrix cars .
I may Have give it another Indoor season and use the TC4 so I can save up the Cash for one of those really Overpriced cars for a class that is supposed to be entry level.

When you think the tc4 is dead, it rises back up from its ashes... Driver patience in attaining knowledge is key here. Look at how long I've been posting here, and you'll understand the tenacity necessary to make the tc4 go faster in a world where everybody's bashing it... I receive little help when I go to race my tc4 in 17.5t blinky, and all the racers cringe when they see me pass them, eventhough I'm still not driving up to the car's ability yet... I recently watched DJ apolaro's video on swaybar tweak, and learned of another mistake I've been making all along... Give it time and effort, and don't get discouraged ever !!!

I Know your trying to be helpful .
Ive been racing RC cars since the Late 80's . Ive only finally signed up to RC Tech to find Races easier (and it's cheap entertainment). My TC5 and TC6 run better as My VTA car But I need them For USGT and 17.5 .
Sorry I'm not discouraged but I am realistic . I race the TC4 or Kyosho TF5 for VTA Because it's what I have and the are Vintage chassis . The TC4 can Compete in VTA and GT , but it is a challenge to do so .

Hi guys just bought a tc4 club, a 200 mm porsche body and some mikuni 5 mm offset wheels and the wheels fit right for width but the pocket the axle nut fits in does not have enough room for a tool to tighten it. Has anyone had experience with this? Is there a very thin wall socket? or do i have to find defferent wheels and from where? Thanks

I have to the same issue with my some of my wheels. I just use a small pair of needle nose pliers to tighten the wheels. I tried to shave down the stock wheel wrench and just ended up breaking or rounding them out

@lone drifter. Does your track follow the rules for VTA pretty strictly? because at 1550 and similar electronics packages the cars should be realitlivy close. You should be able to hang with the new cars unless your setup is way off or something is making your car slow

Weight alone has nothing to do with it, its a lot easier to drive a modern car faster/more consitent then a older chassis designed around foam tires with zero/very little chassis flex.

That was in 2013... I got much faster since then, and will make the Amain by 2015 with the same car...

Just finished building my VTA with a TC4.
The old timers I talk say it's still a solid platform.

Back then you were still talking about beating pro drivers and shaving tenths off your time.

That video is pure gold though.

Stop ragging on Bert.

This is the TC4 thread, not the Bert thread, put the Tech back in RCTech.
