I didn't even know they made plastic outdrives for the TC4. If you're worried about weight, IRS makes really nice aluminum outdrives and "pin cushion" dog bones.

Steel is heavy but extremely durable... You won't need an Awesomatix with the DC4 LE's potential... I thought you were going to order tge aluminum IRS litedrives instead...Good luck...

Excuse the post!

New drive shafts are on the order list. Along with a parma bumper and some rpm ball cups
and some new shocks preferably associated shocks. Among other things that are on the list. I will get some pictures up when I get a chance. As anal as it is im guessing diggity wont number other chassis they sell. so I might buy a chassis or 2. dependant on the choices which both look good.

If your car weighs less than 1400grams, it will be fast...

You can run the plastic outdrives in 17.5 and 13.5.

With a little modding they work great. I run the HD Aluminum CVD Bones up front with a spool and the plastic outdrives in the rear with the plastic dogbones!

Dremel down the cvd bone pins so they are just under the surface of the outdrive diameter when installed. The next part is the "hard" part. depending on your resources you want an aluminum sleeve made to snugly fit over the outdrive. Anyone with a friend that has lathe access can get these made easily or if you look around you may find a stock size of tubing that fits.

mine are .405" O.D. .375" I.D.

This mod is only worth it if you already have the plastic outdrives. If you don't already have them, then buying the aluminum $22 IRS(#2140) litedrives is the best way to deal with the problem once and for all without switching to the heavy steel outdrives, and without worrying about how much power the outdrives can handle...

I couldn't agree more. I would also recommend using the IRS dog bones with the pin cushions installed. If you use the standard dog bones with the metal pins they will wear out the aluminum outdrives. If you run 17.5 or VTA, you can use the composite dog bones with the cushions already installed.. Lighter and only $7.50 for a full set.

You're right about the pin cushions, but the amount of time it takes to wear the outdrives is pretty long... I am on still on my first IRS set of outdrives in my mod 3.5t after 5years and they wore down to a point but stopped wearing anymore. It's weird but I can still run them for another two years or so... That's $22 well spent....

Wow how about that!! I went through a set without pin cushions using a 25.5. I probably could've went a bit longer but, I'm a bit OCD.

I have the RPM ball cups everywhere on my TC4 except for on the hub carriers and spindles. The RPM ball cups are thicker and would rub on some rims.

Have you had any issues running sorex pre glued tires?

Does anyone run swaybars on their tub chassis TC4? I'm currently running a soft one on the front and rear of mine in USVTA. I'd like to see if others are running them and what type of class and track they run on.
