Sorry to bring up an old thead, but it seemed fitting for my question. I was wondering if anyone had trouble with the pinion bottoming out against the chassis. When reaching high 30t to 40t pinions, they tend to scrape the bottom. Anyone come across this problem?

Most definately. I am running 45-49t pinions (64 pitch) and I had to dremel out the brace on the chassis that sits underneath the pinion to give ample clearance.
I also had the dremel out the battery tray (the little notches for sub-c cells) to fit my lipo and dremel the area under the servo horn when I upgraded my servo.

TC4 Spool
I have the stock AE steel spool and I am looking for an Lighter version.
Will this Yokomo one work. I read a thread once talking about using metric bearings.

Either it's weight or meterial. I've only used the tan ones that came with the car. I wouldn't worry about it.

I have a TC4 and dont have any problems getting parts in the US. In fact I still run the T3 and can get parts easily as well. That truck is years out of production. Associated will still make parts as long as folks are still buying them and there are alot of TC4s running around.

The TC4 is widely used amongst novice and expert drivers alike (but most expert drivers prefer the TC3). I have thought of getting a new TC5R or XRay, but I see them burning up the track with outdated cars. So, that's why I've kept mine. And the part accesibility is just insane.

I got my tc4 out to the local carpet track for the first time last weekend, and ahve to say thank to all that have posted their setups on this thread. I followed someone's carpet setup sheet posted here, and the car was immediately on rails as soon as it hit the track. It was the fastest stock TC on the track that day, and hopefully it will continue to be . Parts are everywhere for the tc4, and they handle great when setup right.

They indeed are still selling the TC4 in the RTR package, and should continue to offer full parts support for the years to come.
My recently retired TC4 did great in club racing in south FL, winning in the stock class and doing as well as 2nd place in Pro Touring against 10.5 motors... with a 13.5 motor!

I just got a TC4 and am going to set it up for dirt oval. I ran a buddies for one qualifier a couple of weekends ago and fell in love. The most fun I've had racing i awhile and it was only 5 minutes.
Anyone else have a dirt oval car? If so post some pics so we can check it out.
