I found that Associated diffs over the years work great and last longer than most. I know in my FT GT's I could go months without re-doing the diff. I think the lightweight steel diffs are a little smoother than my lightweight plastic diffs they make. My steel ones in my FT are very smooth. I ran the car 3 weekends now about 30 packs worth and still pretty nice. I bought it used so I'm not sure how much it was ran before that but still really nice overall.
koabich it is funny but it does seems like Associated has a smaller onroad team as this time than the offroad team. I could be wrong but it just seems like that. It would be nice to see more guys running but I give Associated credit for not sending guys to run the lower classes just to try to get higher results. Maybe they have something up their sleeves for 06. |

it's ok i guess because they got barry baker! just like mugen racing, they got mike swauger and they count on him on worlds races. the team is not big and almost like a one man show. but they do have a very poisonous snake on their arsenal :sneaky: |
One of the big things that will save time is to precompress the diff spring. Get a good set of pliers and compress the spring several times. Once the diff is set there is no readjusting needed.

FT TC4 Springs
I am looking for optional springs for my FT TC4 and on Tower I only see them for the TC3 (springs)
Can these be used with the FT TC4? What other springs do you recommend? |
they are fine to use

Thank you - are people using other brands other than associated? I assume the AE FT Drivers are using the AE springs and using their setups and when they call for Green, Silver, Blue springs etc. they are AE's.

yeah they are all AE's as far as I know.

GP3700s
GP3700s: Do they fit the original tub chassis properly, or is it just me?

I use Schumacher springs, without any problems, settings in lbs and provide some alternative values to the AE springs

I am having difficulty getting a bearing in a steel outdrive. Does anybody have a tip on how to get it in without damaging it.
|
I think the bearings are the wrong inside diamater....

What is the size of the bering that is used in the steel outdrive? is it 4x8x2 or 4x8x3?
