What is the purpose to pre-order? As soon as the car comes out won't the price drop???

That's right donoman, the price should drop up to 30% after the car has been on the market for half year.
It's the cost of having to have the newest and (arguably) best stuff.
Just look at it like you're sponsoring the hobbyshop and/or the manufacturer.

The estimated price of the TC4 team kit is $220. I doubt it would go down by 30% in half a year. The TC3 was 220 for the team kit when it first came out, and I think they still sold for $200 after many years.

donoman,

the purpose of pre-order is to help us gauge how much the demand is so we ensure we bring in enough car kits for the first batch for all the customers. The pre-order does not cost anything, we will contact you first to make sure you still want the car kit when it arrives.

The price might drop by maybe $5 or so when it arrives. The MSRP on this kit is $369.99 (which no one in the industry sells at this price) street price is estimated to be $220 or so (that's our best estimate)

andsetinn,

I'm not sure where you are generating the 30% figure, but if you're going off of MSRP ($369.99) then we went far beyond 30%. A good example would be the TC3 Factory Team kit, the price has been the same on our site ever since it was released. Maybe the pricing structure is different in your country?

Car looks great, although I am dissappointed that AE is not including at least the graphite chassis with the team kit like they did with the TC3.

I'm glad the diffs are the same size as the TC3, so I can use my IRS outdrives. Any idea if the MIP CVD's have pin cushions? I'm guessing no.

Are the diff cases the same as the TC3? I think the biggest improvement with this kit would be if the drive train ran free out of the box.

My sentiments exactly. If the drive train is free, I can see a TC4 in my future.

We NEVER included a graphite chassis with any Team kits....only Factory Team kits. It's basically the same as a Team TC3, except better!

TPhalen, so when will the graphite parts be available. Non-graphite stuff is ok for asphalt, but those of us running foam tires on carpet want the graphite.

All the Factory Team upgrades should be available close to the release of the car.

So, are the gearboxes any different from the TC3? I'm debating this car over the Pro4, which has an extremely free drivetrain.

Is Associated gonna release a chassis/suspension kit, like they have for the TC3. The chassis, arms, hubs, shock towers all in graphite in one bag?
