Hey guys just wondering have any of you guys put the crc damper tubes on the car, and how do they work because I tried them on my rugrat and they were horrbile so i actually put a damper plate on. How would it work since there is no rebound and i dont think the t-plate rebounds does it?

Just wondering,
Justin

Hey Justin,
I think most of the guys running the BMI conversion started with the CRC tubes. I tried them and could turn faster lap times then with the dampner washers, but not as consistant. There are alot of guys now using a 3 shock set up. There are pics a few pages back. I tried it in mod. and had good success with it. The following week I ran that set up in stock and had to change springs and ended up with good results. It all depends on how you like the car to feel. There are some guys also running a .078" to .080" t-plate which is out of a higher quality fiberglass and returns to center better.

Oh okay thanks Wayne I was just wondering because it didnt work out to well for me in the past. I might wanna try the three shock setup, should you use thicker oil in the side shocks? I gotta go and get some shocks then.

Hey Justin,
I ran 40wt. oil with gold springs. I've tried 35 and 50wt. and silver and black springs. It depends on the shock angle, but that would get you close.
If you need shocks let me know. I'm working on a line of products and the vcs shock is one of them. It has a TiCN coated shock shaft and a remachined piston to be concentric to the shaft and radiused. The complete kit goes for $16.00, but if you need 2 I'll cut you some slack

Default Side shocks

The hardest thing for me with the side shocks was getting them to have equal dampening. I have one of those Losi shock testing tools from offroad racing. I modified it to work with with the VCS shocks. That helped a little, or at least let me check the pair together to make sure they had the same dampening.

take care
john

wow thats kinda expensive, only reason I wanted anodizing was because I wanted to buy your kit but all the other stuff I have to put on it are already purple and I wanted to just take the Pods and whatever else is aluminum and just get it anodized.
