LOL, your 100% correct. I just knew someone would bring up the weight issue with the shocks. If I was a world class driver I would probably worry about it more, but I know I'm gonna tap one pipe in 8 minutes.

The Tekin I have on the car is about 32 ounces. There's a little to loose there, but I wouldn't trade any of that performance for a few ounces.

take care
john

You had me confussed on the set the spring collar just to touch the spring thing. Then when you set the pod height.

I'll call tonight if the package shows.

take care

I was finally able to find the time to mount the servo flat. It opens up a lot of room to mount the electronics closer to the center line. Here's a picture of everything in place:

Now I just have to convince my son that I'm better off driving the car this weekend.

Rick - your car looks awesome...enjoy it

Wayne - LOL, I like your measuring system!!! Need to pick up a 88 or 90 spur now. Hopefully my track tomorrow has some That will also eliminate my motor hitting the corner of the pod plate too.

Do you guys have any opinions on what would be the "BEST" rear axle for the BMI i was thinking of the IRS2132 (1/12th Associated Style Large Diff Ring Assembly) ??

But if you have any other idea's i would love to know (pic's ??)

New to this 1/12th scale stuff but if i get one, i want it to be "right" !!

Cheers for the pointers

Merciless...
I personally like the CRC diffs. I've been running them for a few years and have no complaints. They fit into the conversion without any crazy shimming to get the axle centered!! Just drop it in!! And the diff. assembly is cheaper then the others available!!

Just got back from the track. The three shock setup worked great. Last week at the race I ran pretty solid 9.8 and 9.9 second lap times every run with the damper tube setup.
The first run today with the three shocks I ran the same lap times but didn't have nearly enough steering turning in and couldn't get on it soon enough coming out of the turn. I was shocked when my lap times were still 9.8 and 9.9's !!!!! I thought, alright, this has potential.
I stiffened the main shock center spring and went up 10 weight of oil in both side shocks. Next run was awesome! The car had the steering I had last week and my lap times dropped to 9.5 to 9.6's with a couple quicker laps!!!!
Other than the three shock I didn't change anything else on the car, even the same tires.

take care
john
