Thanks, I had a pretty hard time getting the parts to show through the plastic. Your header card looks good though, good job.
Yes sir, I'll give you a call Sat. night and let you know about the ball studs.

take care

hey guys

those with the conversion. I have a question. I have just gotten the conversion. I am trying to figure out some things.

1. i see from johnb's car that the shock mount is the part just infront of the front tbar mount. do you have to cut down the ball cups on the shock to mount it there? my shock seam to be fully compressed when mounted in that position.

2. I see the hole for the battery slots. what are the slots in between the 2 cells and how do I use it?

thanks

No package for Gus yet.

theisgroup - Yes you do need to cut them down. The overall shock length on my car is about 2.16" center to center of the ball cups. The little slots are for some sort of battery retention thing. I've never messed with any, my batteries have never moved at all. You will will shocked how easy it is tape the batteries in the car!

take care
john

we have a state race this weekend. I put together the bmil4 and it was fast and it's trasition is just awsome. I need to tune out some steering, but other then that it is a great addition to the bmi stable.

JohnB, thanks for your help. If you have any suggestions on setup, that would be great. I basically have a stock l4 setup on it at this point. but only put 2 packs into the car.

theisgroup,
The battery stops are not done yet... I'll get them to you as soon as they are finished. John is correct about trimming the ball cups down a bit for the shock. I never measured the overall length of my shock, but I'm sure the dim. John gave you is good. The rest is pretty simple. I can give you my stock set up, and I'm sure others will have input and suggestions... Use what works for you!

Well guys I drove it last night. Damper tube setup BMI L4.

First impressions

- Tons of steering
- Stuck rear end
- Neutral handling
- Very easy to adapt to
- SMOOTH!

It really handles like a dream and I'm extremely happy with it. Definately worth the wait! Compared to the L4, it carries more speed through the corners, is smoother and doesn't push or break out the rear end if pushed to the limits. I let four other guys(faster then me) run it last night and all liked it alot. All adapted quickly and were pushing it hard after a lap or 2.

This car handles better with a setup that I pulled straight out of my arse then my L4 did after a month and a half of tuning. And I actually thought my L4 handled well.

You guys have a winner here, thanks Wayne, Jason this car kicks arse. I can't wait to get on the track again this wedneday and run some hard packs through it. I had to work yesterday and only got about 2 hours at the track. I'll be sure to let a few other guys run it and see what they think.

Wayne - Have you had any of the graphite cross braces break yet? If I ever break one I'd need a hook-up.

Cheers,

Matthew.

Default BMI 1/12 conversion

Matthew,
Glad things worked out well. I have never broke a main chassis brace, YET...lol... I felt the sames thing you did, the car doesn't break free no matter how hard you push it. When I run stock I don't let off more then 3/4 throttle. In mod. I let it roll at 1/4 throttle, but never fully off. I think you may even like it better with the dampening washers. I felt with that set up the car was more stable and I could run more consistant lap times, but it is up to you and your driving style. Good luck, and let me know if you need anything!!
Wayne
