There are two sets of holes in the Top Plate for the damper mounts. I notice with the dampers in the most rear-ward holes the dampers look parallel with the chassis, didn't measure, just eyeball. In the forward holes the dampers sweep a little back. Which is better? I guess in my mind, the closer to the same plane as the T-bar pivot the better. So the rear holes are a good starting point?

take care
john

Hey John..
The hole position back farthest would keep the tubes straight... And the holes forward put them at a slight angle, as you saw... I tried both positions, It seemed like the farthest back position was the best... If you try both you'll see the dampening changes with the farthest forward position, kinda like changing the shock angle on a shock mount... You can also change the feel by shimming the ball studs to flatten the tube out more...

sg1:

Hi,

did you cut the steering blocks down like we used to do ????? I am having some ackerman issues with the chassis that Mini is running and was wondering if the cut down steering blocks were part of the problem. I also put the pod on you sent. Thanks it works great!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks

wvracer...
I'm sure it's possible... I'd be concerned about it delaminating...

timxlb..
with the 12L4 front suspension I didn't move anything... Make sure your servo is slightly forward, and that the turnbucles are level (parallel) with the chassis... I haven't noticed any problem with the ackerman.

Default damper tubes

Perfect, thanks. I played with the angles a little last night. Using CRC tubes, .018 front springs inside, a short spacer (don't remember the legth now) and the middle hole on the outter mount is just about right to put no pressure on the springs with the chassis sitting neutral. When I rotate the chassis so it drops about 1/16" then they touch the spring. I'll start there and see what it does.

take care

Ray.. it was a 34 8:07... I think I was 13.8's up front and 14.4 at the end... I don't think 35 is possible in stock, that was a pretty clean run...

I think its good. Pete was on a fast 33 lap run, but he slowed to a 33 8:10 I think. I never got a perfectly clean run-but I did a 33 8:13 with a couple 16 sec laps. So-maybe a 33:10 was possible for me.
