Default Novak Brushless Problem

I have a new Novak Brushless SuperSport 4300 Brushless System installed in a F201. I've connected the ESC to my XXTRA Receiver in Channel 2 while the steering servo is in Channel 1. I finally connected the ESC to the Battery and held down the "set" button on the ESC. Then I switched to the on position and waited for the Red LED to go on. My transmitter was turned on prior to on position and pressed the throttle button and waited for the Green LED to turn on but it never did. I'm thinking it's my receiver but I switched receivers and tried it on XXL. Still the same outcome. Any suggestions how to fix it? Thanks.

I'm sorry I don't have any type of brushless system. I would try sending an e-mail to [email protected] and I'm sure he can help you. He always responds quickly with an intelligent, but simple reply.

I think you emailed already, but just in case.

The most common mistakes in this area are the First Digit being Set wrong on your Xxtra. There are Two Rows on the First Digit, you need to use the Bottom row for Airtronics.

Also, the Receiver "Input Harness" being plugged into the ESC backwards, or to the receiver backwards. The ESC case is marked, and the Black wire should go to the Outside Edge of the Case on the receiver.

Send us an email if you have not done so yet.

Thanks
Charlie

Problem solved! The lower row of numbers on the XXTRA were the culprit. Thanks.

Default F201 Brushless

Just ran the Brushless on F201 and it's almost as fast the Nitros. I used the stock gearing and it flies! I'm thinking of getting a PC fan and sticking it on the engine. How would you connect the fan? Connect it to the XXTRA channel #3? Or to the Motor?

I run a 5800 in an HPI Rally (way too much power....LOL) and it's totally enclosed. The motor never gets past barely warm...the ESC gets pretty warm (comes off after a full pack at 180-190), but I've never had a moment of trouble with it.

It would probably run cooler if I could floor it occasionally.

The next system is still in the works. The HV-Maxx will likely come first with the faster 540 system to follow. We still really don't know exactly when things will be done though.

Fans can be run through extra channels in the receiver. I've used them that way for a few different applications and they have worked fine.

Thanks
Charlie
