Wow I cant believe this thread was on the 5th page. This thread should be top 5
at least.(on first page).I think the rev 4.5 is one of the best cars out there.
Who is running this car and why?Let's here your thoughts and share some set up's.The only thing I dont like (just nit picking) about the car is the old school front end.To get it right is a bitch. Please give some input on this subject.

Thanx Mike Malinconico.

I agree about this being a great car, that's why I consistently recommend it in my local racing circles.

Standard Mod setup seems to be: 20K diff lube in the tubes. White side springs with little or no pre-load. Blue or Red shock spring with pre-load set so that the car is flat or only .5 - 1 deg sag in the middle on the bottom side of the car when viewed from the side. 30-40 weight shock oil. 0.20 front springs. 4 degrees caster. -1.5 degrees camber.

Make sure the steering rods are angled like you see the team cars. Run magenta front and rear (also known as double pinks in some circles). I wish I had been running this earlier compared to my own setup but since Beavis got me dialed in at the end of the Halloween Classic I can truly say that this standard setup rocks!

There are some really good guys on this thread including Mike Dumas himself that know a LOT more about the car than I do and they are really helpful. That's one of the nice things about Team Speedmerchant. They really help.

For club racing with low to medium bite in stock I have been fiddling with:

20 Front Springs
Lowered Steering Blocks
2mm Castor Shims
Header Card Camber Shim
45wt Shock Oil
Blue Or Red Center Spring
About .5mm Droop
About 1mm Pod Sag
Blue Side Springs (New Style)
Ride Height 3.5mm all around
10k OFNA In The Tubes
Double Pink Jaco Wraps On All 4 Corners
Parma Speed 8 Body

Nick

When you run header card camber shims are your axle's the same height?
It seam's the right side block has about 1 deg. camber on it's own.On the left side has 0 deg. When I shim to get 1 deg. camber on left side the axle height is way off.Does anyone have this problem?

Thanx Mike Malinconico.

The AE molds for the old skool arms are well, old. They are not really super consistent left to right. Pretty much do the best you can to make them even, if you have extras match them up as best you can.

A while ago I heard that speedmerchant is working on a new front suspension.
Does someone know more about this? Because after that I never heard something of it again.

I was told in cleveland about it and that it was supposed to come out at snowbirds. the info is also given in the Indoor Champs write-up by him. It looked really good and consistent.

The front end was tested by TJ and Dumas at the gate, then tj ran it at the champs. It is very promising even at this early stage. It allows for a much more slop free build then competing systems.

Will it bolt directly to the exisiting chassis holes?

The way it looked on the car it did. But I dont know if it had a prototype chassis as well. The slop seemed almost non-existent, and the setup of it is not very intricute like most others. Will see.
