My $.02 about tires on the rev. 4...

In stock at least...

I have always run (on every track) grey's and purple (parma tires) and been very happy with them, I have tried pink rear's however they just dont feel the same, and arent as fast. Grey's do wear alot more than pinks, espically on lower bite club racing tracks, thus making pinks a decent alternitive to grey's for club racing.

As far as the servo, I like to drill holes just incase the shoe goo breaks or something and I have a qual up and I dont have time for it to dry. But many races do just shoe goo in their servo (make sure its perfectly true when you place it though)

Hey Timmy, how are things going? Good job at the Birds dude.
I think I see your point..a little confusing
What I was trying to do is give both sides of the picture.

People normally say that Pinks on Carpet don't give as much side bite as Grays thus the rear end is more hooked up with Grays on Carpet even though it's usually said that Pinks give a little more forward bite on Carpet for a little more rip off the corners. However on Asphalt due to their different type of foam Pinks will actually heat up and get sticky and thus give more side bite than a Gray in that circumstance. That's why people who race Ashpalt will usually say that Pinks are the way to go instead of Grays but people who race Carpet will say that Grays give more bite.

Regarding the wear issue; Grays on a lower bite Carpet track can wear so fast in a modified run that you wind up running on foam that no longer has Paragon on it which we normally refer to as "blowing" the traction out of the tires and people use to see this a lot with Whites. Since Pinks wear less this effect of "blowing" traction out of the tire may not happen as easily. On Carpet I normally don't experience blowing the traction out with Grays and I agree with Stormperson that I typically like Grays on the rear of my Rev. 4 better than Pinks. I can do with both, the Grays just feel a little better and more consistent on Carpet for this car IMHO. I hope this makes sense now...

Default Rev 4 tweak plate

In the Rev 4 kit the new tweak plate is a bit thicker than original one - does anyone have any experience with the new as oppsoed to the original and why it was upgraded?

On the Rev.3 the tweek plate attached to the chassis much closer to the tweek springs, giving it more support. After moving the supports towards the center of the car, it made the tweek plate flex more. Going to thicker graphite lessens the flex and allows the tweek springs to do their job more consistantly.

I ordered some stuff off Bruce via the online shop at the start of Feb.
a delay was expected due to the snowbirds but i still have had no response.
I need it shipping to the UK so I was expecting an email with the extra shipping costs. I have emailed Bruce again but have had no response, Is this usual for Bruce? What is the best way of contacting him?

Hey all you Speedmerchant faithful!!! The news section on the website has been updated, and the new tweak springs and decals are available from the online store. Check it out.

I would assume so, he may be going just as "team manager" though.

Try putting a diode on the motor. Sometimes the built-in ones go bad. I had this happen on a monster stock, put a diode on and all was good.
