Default ATL function

can anyone explain to me what the atl function does on my futaba controller.....

It's a throttle-side limiter (equivalent to the dual rate on the steering side)

Normally on a Futaba it defaults to the braking side (so you can limit the intensity of the brakes), but you can also use it to limit full throttle too I think (not that I have ever wanted to!).
