Futaba CDR5000 VS CEI GFX 35
Anyone have experience with both, please share your opinion. I'm looking more toward the Futaba because it's new, larger screen, and best of all it's small size compare to bulky T35. But on the other hand CEI is like the industrial standard.
From my limited research, the only thing that CDR5000 doesn't have compare to T35 is motor break-in, that I can live with.

CDR-5000
I just got a CDR-5000 yesterday and was in the same boat as you are now. It all came down to getting single cells information while charging and discharging. It was then between a CDR and Pro-trak, but decided to go with Futaba as it is more user friendly in my opinion and would probably get more support from it.

I think there are clips for every battery bar, so it can monitor each cell.

what information can you get for each cells. will it be enough to match packs with?

You get voltage per cell during charge and discharge and the match percentage of the pack which is good.
Not sure if you can get IR and runtime per cell but you do get them per pack.
I am trying to buy loose cells and see if I can start matching my own pack.

I have had the gfx since it was released and I can tell you that it is a top notch charger. The futaba is just getting to everyone and it is a bit expensive if you ask me. I have a pro trak and a gfx and I love both. The pro trak to me is great it does a lot, for example it has single cell monitoring, it has temp charge capabilities, it has a discharge tray called the ICS (intensive care system), it can be hooked up to a computer and you can get graphs of your batteries performance, and it also has a motor run in mode with an optional stand.
The newer 30 amp version will be out and the ICS will be able to be hooked up to the charger and monitored, at this time with the 20 amp version the ics is a stand alone unit. If you haven't looked into the pro trak talk to crimson eagle, he's on the forum here and ask him questions he is the USA rep for Pro trak.
The cool thing about this charger it is upgradeable with ROM chips too.........

Just a thought.......look into it and make a decision.....you can't go wrong with either charger they are all pretty good.
