Yes.

Not all rubber is the same and if you are talking pre-mounts, there are some major differences in the quality of the rims.

It depends on what you are talking about.

If you're talking about the no name stuff you see on Ebay that doesn't list the shore rating, then those are just junk tires.

If you're talking about name brands that lists a shore rating or has a rating scale then its a matter of preference and what suits your driving or track conditions.

your track conditions are the key factor here...
find out what the fast guys at your track run. thats a good starting point. In my opinion you cant go wrong with sorex or RP tires.
