GQ automatic tire truer

How is this tire truer. It has more features than the automatic Hudy. Can anybody vouch for it.

i have mixed emotions about these things i think unless you are a VERY seriuose racer i dont think you need one yea i'm sure they make a diffrence but unless you have a 10t mod motor with you suspenshion set incredibly perfect then yea i would get one but if you just racing at the local track with friends i dont think you need one

I need one. I have a big 15 lb. maxmod truer. Its powerful but it's not that accurate. I race outdoor modified elecric and gas with foams. Gotta get one.

if your racing on smooth asphalt foams will last you a while

Looks like a decet tire truer. What do they cost tho? I just got the Integy automatic tire truer and its great. Great price too, I got it for ~ $170 and $21 for the touring car hex adapter. About the only thing it doesn't do over the GQ one is the corner sanding. That looks like a neat feature, but if you are doing different width tires all the time, would probably become more of a hassle than anything. Plus the extra cost of replacing those curved sanding things. Just as easy to do it by hand. Also, can't tell from the pics if that GQ truer lets you spin the tire in either direction. The Integy does, which is the first truer I've seen that does. It makes sanding the edges much easier and safer.

i just bought a used ofan automatic

i dont see a big difference between that and the hudy automatice truer except it has buttons on it instead of switches

Cool, features....

I like the rounded edge...

Hmmmm....I think I have an idea :D

Has anyone actually used the GQ one yet?
I'm looking at getting a tire truer, and it's between the GQ and the Integy.
I want to hear from people that have actually used them.

I have the Integy auto unit and for the $180 I paid, I am extremely happy. Plus, having that nice case makes trips to the track easier.

Anybody know how much the GQ one is? Doesn't look like they make a 12th arbor though...

Tres 08-24-2004 05:08 AM

I assumed it used the same arbors as the Ofna, Integy & Hudy...

dontfeelcold 08-24-2004 05:46 AM

the advert for the integy tyre truer said it can resurface rubber tyres, giving back the same traction they once had and make them last for 20 runs instead of 2-3 runs. Has anyone tried this? Is it true? or is it a marketing ply?

hudy fully automatic with automatic return. carbide tip and alloy carry box provided. THE BEST IN THE BIZ! and like a top quality merc it keeps it's value if you are crazy to sell it one day.

I can tell you for a fact that Pat is not a recreational basher. :)

I have the integy team truecut version. Very good truer at an excellent price! My only gripe, is the L.E.D. going out the 1st time I used it and the arbor threading itself off during use!:weird:  So, other than having to check to make sure the arbor is still on tight, the truer works great. It even has all the working features of the GQ Truer with the exception of the tire edge-rounding feature.

I still would like to know how much the GQ truer costs? It looks great and the foam-catching tray would make clean up a breeze!
