Reflex 12

is the reflex 12 hard to set up and keep set up, my club leader is pushing me to not buy a reflex 12, he said for a first time 12 scaler, i should get a speedmerchant or l4, but one of my friends is movin up to 1/12th with me, he is gettin a reflex and hes really good at setting up cars. he also says its hard for it to get parts, what usally breaks on these cars, because ill just order some spart parts on horizon, i dont think ive every seen a 1/12th scale break, but ive only raced carpet for 3 yrs now

I have an Trinity Reflex 12. It was alittle annyoing to set-up the front suspensiong with all those turnbuckles. But overall its a great kit. It was my first 1/12 along side with an L3. Just be sure to have an extra t-bar because those break. And if your racing modified or 19t get some extra parts from the front suspension. I crashed once pretty hard with a 19t and i broke the whole front. (Besides the turnbuckles)

Be sure to get those micro servos that bolt to the kit and a Trinity Body top. Its a pain in the beginning because you need specific items but in the end its a sweet car.

Hope it helps.

so t-bar and some front end parts, and a digital servo

LosiRacerX 08-21-2004 03:06 PM

what a body top?

JDXray 08-21-2004 03:08 PM

look for trinity ones that they make. You need a specific one. Which sucks.

LosiRacerX 08-21-2004 03:11 PM

can you explain it, how much are t-bars

JDXray 08-21-2004 03:13 PM

t bar is like 7 bucks. Go to trinity website and look up reference body tops. I think thats what it is listed by. In the manual you get it shows you.

I started 12th scale with 12L3 and liked it. Just about all 12th scale cars are based on the 12L3 and and use many of the 12L3 parts, Losi does not. The only draw back to the 12L3 was taping batteries and I did get pretty good at it. I have since moved on to a CRC Carpet Knife, nice car, no taping, give it a look.

BTW 12th scale can be madding, one day it's perfect you put it away and do nothing to it, the next day it's undriveable.

I have still have that 12L3, I'll sell it cheap! Extra t-bars included.
