Hey guys, I think you all are the ones to ask advice from regarding batteries, electonics, etc.

My situation is this. I'm racing nitro and need a 6V reciever pack to run the servos. I'd like to ditch the 5-cell pack and use one of my M18 flat lithium batteries that are 7.4V.

Is there something to use or some way to regulate it to 6V?

Any guidance is greatly appriciated.

I dont think you need to regulate it at all. A six cell 7.2v pack should run your electronics just fine. The hardest part might be making it fit neatly on the chassis.

That's the thing. In my XXX-S, 7.2 goes through the ESC. In my nitro car, it's straight to the reciever. Which I believe can only take 6V.

7.4v is more than I would ever put into a receiver. 6v max.

Sosidge, I'm trying to convert the power from my 7.4V Lipo to 6V. Someone in the nitro forum told me that you need a transformer to covert it down. I'm hoping someone here can help me out with the type of resistors or whatever to make it possible.

I'm trying to knock off weight from the regular 5-cell NiMh, by using a Lithium battery that I normally use on my X-Ray.
