Default Old Kyosho

I've been in and out of the hobby a couple of times since 1985 and now have a grandson that although is still too young for RC has an strong interest in all things automotive.
Cleaning up the basement I came across a pile of old Optimas and Ultimas and was wondering should I restore them ready for my grandson or for sale. Are buggies still in or is it all trucks now.
What would you do?

If you have working cars then keep those! Vintage cars don't sell for much unless they are hardly used or are brand new in box.

If you have spare parts then use your current cars and let him break it and learn how to fix it. Once he gets better and craves more speed, or knows what he wants next then move towards that direction. Why spend money on a new car that he might not even be interested in?

Optimas in good condition are worth big $$, especially if you have any gold Option House parts on there. Stock tires and rims, if they are in excellent condition are very valuable.

Ultimas, not so much, unless super condition.

Go here for advice, http://www.rc10talk.com/ and take some pictures of your stuff. Those guys can sort you out.

Thats what I was thinking. Keep the Optimas and get him a Blitz. Send me those Optimas and I will buy you a Blitz.

Thanks guys, yes I do have a pile of spare parts many new and many Option House including rims and tires. Perhaps I'll rebuild 2 of each and when the little guy is ready he can beat up on the old guy.
