Second that for Hobby King !! The Zippy Flightmax Hard Case packs are great and have proven very reliable. My first 2 4000mah 25c packs are 2 years old and still going strong.

I'll third the Hobbyking. I just bought Turnigy 4000mAh 30c hardcase for $19, The mention Flightmax 4000 packs are great too! I bought a $100(SMC, very close to 100) lipo my first one and then bought two Flightmax 4000mAh 25c 2s hardcase and quickly sold the SMC to buy two more Zippys

hobby king has cheap lipos that work great i have 5000mah 20-30c and they are great in mod i got them as club packs as all my top range packs start to swell very fast but the turnigy packs have not missed a beat and are running same times if not slightly better.and only $15 a pack so they almost sell them self.i might be going out on a limb here but the 30-40c turnigy packs have double side tape in the the larger case to think you are getting more and bigger but they space them to fit in the larger case with double sided tape so maybe your getting a ripped off for the larger pack.

do you have any idea how many cycles you have on each pack? just want an idea of how much you have used them in 2 years.

thanks

Some guys are saying that 50C makes noticeable difference over a 30c IN STOCK/silvercan.

I find it hard to believe, can anyone confirm or deny ??

bigben, I've used these twice a month since i bought them. I run a club and we meet twice a month. In addition, they've often been used as loaners to club drivers who don't own lipos yet. I must add that I'm religious about balance charging. They've never been charged any other way. I had my first 2 for a year before I bought 3 more. I mark my batts with the purchase date so March 2009 for the first 2 and March 2010 for the other 3. Still going strong !!

1101, I'm no expert but I've been around for awhile and read plenty. Battery output numbers haven't been much of a mystery to me. Although ANY output figure can affect performance in some way, It's negligible only when you consider the whole combination of battery, esc and motor. Battery supplies power, esc transfers power to motor, motor transfers power to gearing. So......if you're totally consumed with maximum power transfer at each point, then you have to have equipment that maximizes all those areas. 50C doesn't mean much if the esc only has an output of so much amperage. It also doesn't mean much if the esc puts out big numbers but the motor is only good for so much wattage and so many rpm's. Bottom line.....way to many sportsman class racers who think that they have to have 50C just because somebody TOLD them they have to. Welcome to the mind game of RC. BTW, this is my opinion......ask somebody else and they might have a different one. I'll stick with my 4000mah, 25C batts for GT 21.5 class and VTA 25.5.

nice work! i take meticuloous care of my lipos too. i keep track of them in my smartphone with # of charges so i know how many each pack has. i balance them every charge and never discharge them past 70-75%. i talked to Flightpower about a pack that i had only 140 charges on and the pack puffed (10s heli pack). the pack was 4 years old with only 140 charges on it, he said that was what killed the pack, 4 year life span is really good i guess. he said i could have charged it 500x in those same 4 years and it still would have died at the same time. so apparantly, age has just as much to do with performance of the lipo as does # of charges.

that was news to me!
