Well, It happens to me to have a thermal shut down even with a 23T motor because the program used was not appropriate.

Try to play with the gear ratio and the program of your speedo.
What is the program you are using ?

my setting is a bit similar to the modified tech one on the ko website but it's much higher frequency (all values from mid 30- mid 40s)

one more questions..
the current limit. i notice all the settings from the ko website are set at "12" (which i assume is 120A), is it enough for all the modified motor?

yes. you can try higher settings. but it might just overheat the esc. hara uses it

Newb question,

The hara twister 2.1 is basically a repackaged VFS-1 ESC right?
If that's the case, do you guys think the hara program that comes with the twister 2.1 will work well with a Peak 10x1 V2 Surikarn Edition Motor?

Thanks for the replies.

yes. since surikarn and hara are teammates now.

seriously.. the hara program will be good for any mod motor, the key is finding the proper gearing for your track.

hehe, that sounds cool.

So they both HPI drivers now? (sorry if i sound like a complete idiot but the name says it all).

What kind of gearing do you recommend for a shorter tighter track w/ a mod motor?

A replacement switch is available $18.75 plus shipping.

A replacement case for the 236X (heatsink version servos) are available, but they are a in-house repair item only due to the difficulty in replacing the middle part of the case.

If you need just the upper case, any of the other servos (2343, 2344, 2173, 2174) will work. They are all the same, but just the servo labels are different.

Well, I read all frickin 40 pages of this post. (Took 3 hrs, but it was worth it) Learnt a lot. But still have some questions:
does 2x Ultimate Schotki Diode (Single) = 1x Ultimate Schotki Diode (double)?

in otherwords, when I get my hara twister 2.1, if I wanted to run a 10x1 surikarn v2 on it, I just need to buy 1x more Ultimate Schotki Diode (Single) and solder them in parallel?

Is it reasonably safe to run my motor with only 1x (single)?? (i really dun wanna spend anymore $$ on this esc... if i can get by... although i know i am getting my bang for buck)

With regards to the tempcutoff, I just want to confirm that the Hara has NO temp cutoff NOT a HIGHER temp cutoff??

And I am just curious why is having the schotki diode closer to the motor more effective than having it near the speedo end??

Lastly, does the Hara 2.1 have less FETS than the Hara 2? and I noticed there is no IR rating for the VFS ESCs, does anyone have any #s?

To KO Staff:

About the VFS-1, when it is written (on the set-up) :CUR.LIM=12
It means it is 120A or the position 12 from the first one (actually NO LIMIT)

Thanks in advance

I'm sure KO will say different, but I would say you can run any quality Schottky diode (or two) that would be used on any other speedo. Two singles would equal one double.

I would not risk a 10T with only one diode, even if the only reason is that they say don't.

I think (only think) that the Hara 2.1 is tha same as the VFS-2, which is a cut-down VFS-1 pro. If so, it will have less FETs.

Having the diode(s) mounted on the motor provide a faster reaction to the reverse EMF they're designed to get rid of. You don't have to rely on the propogation delay and resistance of your wires to hinder it.

Along w/ the Questions in my previous postings...
I am getting all confused with all these equivalents along this thread?

KO Staff Member, you think you can once and for all just list all these equivs in one blow, to clear this issue once and for all?

Mainly I want to know:

VFS-2 = ?
VFS-1 Pro= ?
VFS-1 Pro Competion = ?
Hara Twister 2 = ?
Hara Twister 2.1 = ?

Thanks alot.

I use the Novak diode.. on an 8x2 with no problems...

the Hara 2.1 is identical to the VFS-1 pro...why would Hara use a cheaper version?
