Talking PUNCHY

The schotty diode included in the VFS 1 Pro is that similar to the KO Booster. What does the KO booster do and will it work for the new VFS speedos?

By the way this is the first time i tried this speedo, i must say its got better punch than all the other speedo's i used out of the box.

KO PROPO staff: yesterday when i ran my schotty diode came off in the last 2 mins of my race will this do any harm to the ESC? I was mega paranoid when it came off. Thanks for your time.

Hi All,

I can most certainly say that it has much more punch than the speedie that i'm currently using but the downside is that i dont know how to program it with the handheld unit
I figured out how to sync it to my radio system but that's it...i cant program it
whenever i try to load data into the speedie or download into the hand controller, "NG" comes on and stays on instead of indicating "ok"
can anyone shed some light on how to program it? can you do a 'step by step' guide for me please? i know how to set and save the values that i want, i just dont know how to load it into the speedie
thanks all! cheers

Poop
here's how i do it with my VFS-2000.. might be a little different with the VFS-1.. ill post as soon as i get mine

1. Turn on handheld adapter. (fi you have a preprogramed profile you want to use, scroll to the memory location and load it)
2. Unsolder your motor from esc (for safety reasons)
3. unplug esc from receiver, plug esc into HHA (handheld adapter)
4. hold down button on vfs. light will go on, and then go off, then back on. once it comes back on, your ready to receive the profile.
5. scroll to the screen taht says. RX TX.
6. press the button that is related to RX. it should say OK meaning you received the profile. if it says NG, that means the esc is plugged into the HHA incorrectly. Turn off ESC First.. then reverse the plug.
7. if you get OK.. scroll to view your profile. make your changes.
8. scroll to the RX TX screen again. press the button associated with TX.. once you press it, look at the on/off switch at the red LED. it should blink really fast (meaning it received the profile).
9. turn off the esc.
10. unplug esc from HHA
11. turn off HHA
12. resolder motor

if you got any more questions feel free to ask.

Chris - how do you like the VFS-2000? I'm considering picking one up from a friend to try a KO ESC. I've used Novak and Keyence stuff in the past (using the Keyence now and like it alot) but they're both hard to program.

How's the punch in stock, and how's the efficiency for mod? Any thoughts?

Rob

Well, I'm not Chris, but...the punch is awesome in stock and 19turn. The efficiency is really good, and the awesome thing about the Ko speedos is that you can tune the thing across the entire throttle band, so, if you are needed better efficiancy and dont really need torque (long straight), bump up the freq. a bit on the upper end of the throttle curve...But seriously, wait for the VFS-1, it is going to be 86.4593% better than the VFS-2000, just just hang on for a few more weeks and pick up the VFS-1 w/Setting Adaptor.

I thought the VFS-1 is was like 95.31556587 better than the 2000 either way...it's going to be one awesome speedo.... can't wait for mine to arrive....

Default VFS-1

I started to use VFS-1 since end of Aug.
Since then, I always keep in A main Sports man stock at SoCal.
What is more, I have never gotten 1st place in the Qualify before.
After changing to VSF-1, I could get some 1st place in the qualify.(Not main race...) This is unbelievable for me!!!
My driving skill is just avarage & motor is just regular "Trinity Monster". So, I suspect this is only the reason to let me become
faster than previous.
I think VFS-1 is much much better than VFS-2000.
What do you think of my comment, Robert?
See you tomorrow at SoCal!

as mike said.. the esc is great! you cannot go wrong with the vfs-2000. if all you run is stock and 19T, you'll definitely feel the punch. i "jacked" mike's roar nats 19T profile..and when i used it.. i definitely felt the rip when going through the Esses at the tamiya track. i actually saw the car dive forward with the stab of the throttle. customizing the throttle profile is the best thing about the VFS series... the sweet spot is huge.. but when you really find the sweet spot on the motor and esc combined, you'll definitely see the difference.

like the other post said, once you get the hang of programming, it becomes second nature. im sure the VFS-1 will be (however much percentage points better) a lot better since it gives you more efficiency for mod. i can only begin to imagine how great it'll be for stock and 19T.

only problem now is... the secret is out.. and everyone will start using the VFS. great for robert and ko propo... bad for us guys that used to have the advantage!

Default VFS-1

Hi! Chris,

After installing VFS-1, I noticed that the gear noise is much wider than VFS-2000. That means, it shows wide throttle range.
We can hear the difference.

As you pointed out, everybody will start using VFS-1 soon. But the secret things is not VFS-1 but the program.
I think VFS-2000 is still nice ESC once people set up the appropriate program.

Are you coming SoCal tonight, Chris?

Gary, . Now you see Chris' true colors! He wouldn't even show me his settings at the Tamiya race. I was his dark secret!

I would have to agree because I was never a real contender at the A-main level. Sure I had my moments, but now I seem to be more consistant with the power. I think that the settings that Mr. Sasaki and I have will have to be our secret for now.
