its not just you.. sometimes i cant feel the changes i make, BUT i can see it in the laptimes. i did use the same car yesterday, i made some changes to my profile for 27T stock..when i raced 19T... i spun my wheels out at the start of the main.. but BOY the car had some nasty RIP coming out of the turns. oh ya.. i did win the main

if you wanna feel a difference... try a profile where its linear. all 17s then drop it down to all 7s. then you'll start to feel it, then you can fine tune from there. with silver can its really difficult to see the changes you make. you really have to check your laptimes.

I would like to go for a profile with 8 or so across the board then work from there but how much stress is that going to stick on the speedo?

i actually ran a linear 1 with the VFS-2000 with a monster stock (crazy stupid rip).... but i had to cut after every run. i dont know if it has any additional stress. but it will cause more brush/comm wear. and i hope you have good batteries. i wouldnt recommend it for 19T. only stock.

Default KO esc

Would like to know which ESC is better VFS 2000 or the new VFS-1 PRO? I know that the difference is that 2000 got 32 setting as for the new VFS it has 64 setting. As can say that i'm new to Ko ESC. All the while using robitronic esc. Thanks in advance.

marcus... the two differences in the 2000 and 1 are....

1. the first few stages (lower drive frequencies) from the VFS-2000 has been removed and higher frequencies have been added. Japan races 8mins and they need the higher frequencies and efficiency. thus the higher frequencies.

2. the footprint of the VFS-1 is about 30% smaller than the VFS-2000. this is very helpful since space is very limited in today's touring cars. pair that off with the Helios receiver.. and you ahve a set of VERY tiny receivers there's a picture below of my SDW with a ko servo, helios receiver and VFS-1 esc.

BOTH escs are programmable (with the proper program device: either handheld or via laptop computer)

also, the handheld programmer for the VFS-1 is now compatible with the Ko programmable servos. it uses "cards" to store the data for each Ko product. kind of like a floppy disk.

if you got any more questions.. feel free to ask. there's also a VFS-2000 thread as well as the Helios radio thread

Default VFS-1 help

Can someone help me with the multi setting adaptor? I am trying to load the settings off the KO site for 27t stock. When it says curr lim= 12 what is the setting. It only has the 40A,60A etc, I might sound a bit stupid for asking this question but this is what this thread is for idiots like me. I am not good with this stuff. Also can I put the esc back to the original settings.

all questions are welcome no such thing as a stupid question.

i have a guess that the curr lim=12 actually means 120A.

the ZERO got dropped off, i think. Robert can you confirm that please?

the original settings for the esc is 36 across the board with everything turned off.

Thanks a lot Hebiki for the info. Anyway i like still cant decide which to get. i got an offer for the vfs 2000 + the adaptor for 190SGD (2nd hand), by the way im from singapore. And i had ask the hobby shop how much the vfs-1 (brand new) cost and was quoted me $260SGD. What is your advice?

The VFS-2 has less FETs inside, bring the specs down. This also brings the cost down in the esc. The features are the same as the VFS-1.

i was confused in the same way, i kinda was thinking that 12 would be the 12th setting (260A) as there are 12 current limiters and 'off'? (or 'off' if 40A is counted as the 0th value??)

i guess both theorys make sense, just wonder which is right....

Chris help, i think my VFS-1 is dead only had 4 meets on it too. I wasnt running a too powerful profile, started about 6 and didnt go any lower than that in 27T. The diode etc was on. My car just slowed and stopped within 10m or so. Took it all off had a good look at everything, tried again in the final thinking it had just knocked off the overheat protection or something. The motor takes a second to accelerate if you hammer the throttle, even without any load on. Tested it with two motors.
Anyway im a bit pissed now, but im going to tear it all down and see if it wants to play silly beggars with me now im at home or not.
Whats KO propo UKs stance on returns in this country as its not sold here yet....
