Dumb question but can you use a normal schokity diode on these speed vsf-1 pro and pro comp controllers for 1/12 4 cell 19t racing? i find intalling the ko ones a pain to fit on the motor wires or on the motor of a 1/12 car and they are really expensive to replace, I just broke my second one my first one got blown up.(not my fault I have to say)
Also I don't need to use the huge cap for 1/12th racing do I could I use the lrp quantum worlds kit 1/12th cap for it instead or just run without?

Anyone know how to lockout the temp cutoff and if it can be done using the PC management program and the PC adaptor?

I no longer see a spark when I hook up my battery pack, some one told me that this mean I need a new capacitor. 1) Is this true, 2) Do I have to buy the expensive KO or can I get any capacitor? Thanks

Sam, fairly sure it can't be done with the PC software, think it's a case of being daring with a pair of cutters..............

KO Staff,
Can a replacement case for a VFS-1 Pro be purchased? If so, how would I get it?

Thanks

you can use the novak one or the Ko one. some are rated higher than others. make sure you dont get one thats too low and fry your ESC that way. Robert explained it a few pages back.

There is a thremal cutt off (set very high) in the esc but if you trigger it, most likely you have damaged the esc.

is it okay to solder the diode to the batt + and batt - terminals rather that to the motor - terminal as the diode is to big to fit in the 1/12 scale pod

more effeciant when it's on the motor...
will work fine if soldered to the speedo.

The whole idea of the diode i thought was to stop any negative voltage spikes coming from the motor to the esc. Can you shed some light on the reason why you would want to do it to the battery wires?!?!?

(there is probably a good reason that has not come to me yet)

Okay, so I am looking for a 8200µF cap. rated at 25V. Is it correct that if that spark is gone when I hook up my batteries, it cap. is bad?
