idk about the springs...i believe you said that the motor was a fantom, so if you just search for their web site, you can look to see how hard or soft the springs are...and to tell you the truth, i dont even know what different springs on the motors do....i thought that softer springs gave more rmp, but decreased efficency and torque, while harder springs give more torque, but decreased rmp, for spring and brush advice you would have to ask someone else becasue i do not know

OK here's the deal on your questions.....

The TEKIN G-( is a full blown racing speedo,it handles any motor you throw at it.

Keep your modified motors for playing, buy yourself a good stock motor (or whatever the beginner class of racing is at the park) for racing and only racing.

Get yourself a set of tires that the guys you will be racing with suggest and keep them only for racing, use what is on it for playing.....

For suspension springs goto the local hobby shop and get yourself 2 pairs each of the following ASSOCIATED spring sets...

ASC3941- Green
ASC3942- Silver
ASC3943- Blue
ASC3944- Gold

They are listed from softest to hardest, they will also be easier to work with than HPI springs because HPI offers about 1 billion springs and nobody understands them at all..... Don't try to use your stock springs with these because you cannot be sure where they fall......

And finally I say at this point just go and race the car.... don't worry about if it's the best car out there, or if any hop-up would make you faster....just have fun, when you are ready to hop-up you will want another..... Just don't forget your first and how racing it made you feel soo good!!!!

Sometimes people wait till they post something 'cause sometimes someone will answer it. You don't want the same conclusion twice do you? I used to own a Sport 2 and now its a Pro 2 with the chassis lowering kit. I won't get the ceramic ball diffs yet because it is fast enough right now. Can't win, but it is fast.

one thing though, could it be possible that the associated springs are too long? I have had a problem with them being too long on yokomo shocks and ofna shocks, so could it be possible that the accociated's would be 2 long for the HPI?

Impactplayr is definately right about that Tekin G-9 - very nice speedo.

I'm with switchbalde about the springs - IF the associated springs is too long, you'll never get good handling out of that car.

I've raced both the Sport2 and currently the Pro2. My brother had both the original Sport and Pro - all are great cars, which dont needs lots of hop ops.

I'll say it again: If the car drives good, dont change anything. Which charger and batteries do you got? This is probably where you should spend money, if spending at all. Good charger + batts means a lot and can eventually be taken to the next car...

No the associated springs aren't too long for the RS4,I have a sport 2 and use them on mine. They are longer, but you can still make proper ride height even with tall rubber tires or full height foams...

It's not about ride hight, it's about down travel ! The springs should NOT be so long, that there's no downtravel.
