Also in the front with the "2" in the front and the "1" in the back. How does having the suspension arm pins pointed out affect handling?
#1; Yes
#2; 1* of arm sweep, some people say it gives a tad more corner entry steering and also calms the car slightly. You kind of have to try it. I have had it in some of the others car I drove and I liked it. The S400 had it too.

I think the first I had ever heard of it was from one of the Losi cars, possibly the street weapon, anyways it was in that manual.

If you don't like it, its easy to remove by just buying another bracket.

Okay, so if I don't like it then I would I get "1" bracket to match the one that came in the kit or get a "2". I understand that there would be a difference in track width between using "1", "1" and "2", "2" and so on. What is the increase in track width from one number to the next?

I would guess about 1mm... Run the car out of the box before changing it as usually kit setup is a good starting point for most things.

looking at the manual and knowing how these cars tend to be, I would say go with a spare "2" block... happy to explain why in a PM

Default Serpent 411 image on the Serpent website

I was browsing the Serpent website on the S411 page. Browse through the images and found this to be somewhat out of place.

It is a pic of the rear section. Take a closer look and its not a diff gear or ball. Look even closer and it lookes like a oneway bearing.

The manual doesn't detail a oneway being an option for either the front or the rear so is this picture a mistake? Or is it a glimpse of whats to come?

That car was received in our hand for AUSTRALIA TOY FAIR back in March. I swapped the front locker to rear and rear gear diff to front, just to see if they will fit and they do. hehehe

Better question....why does it look like the chassis countersink is not deep enough?

Because it's a Pre-Production car, Serpent has made cars before and the quality is really high. The S400 was not like that so why think the S411 would be that way My S400's fit and finish was really good actually.
