Default Stabiliser ball end

I m building my Eryx right now and found that the stabiliser ball ends caps are too tight for the ball end causing binding. Any tips on how to loosen them?

Thanks.

Default S411 21.5 stock gear ratio help

Hey guys I have a 411 with 21.5 thunder power HB flux pro esc 5000 65c lipos 84 spur and 25 pinion it's the bigger pitch not the finer one. The motor is over heating at 180-190 after 2-5 min and is struggling to get to top end speed is there a easy calculator out there or some to help find out what I should be running? I'm not good with maths. Thx

If you have an iPhone, GearIt is a useful little app for calculating gearing, and can save cars to it as well

GearIt v2

Are you using boosted or blinky software on the ESC? as that gearing is quite low, even for blinky (84 / 25 = 6.72 FDR)

Hey ed I am not sure if I am using blindly mode or not just using the 17.5 stock mode on the esc program card bit of a newbie to rc touring thought I would start slow with the 21.5 class, hey just off topic are you the ed that races the 411 at meakin park in logan city? I have been trying to get in contact and starting membership with logancity rc club I will check that app out too thx mate. I have seen a few pin/spurs on eBay but trying to find the best supplier of serpent gear for here in brissy

Ah ok, what you probably want to do is switch the ESC to Mode 2 on the program box, which is zero timing mode (that is blinky mode). Car will be slower mind (as the profile you have on does have boost/turbo), but you'll need to run this mode at club meets.
And yes, thats me with the 411 at Meakin, feel free to come bring your car over if you have any q's next meeting, as I'm more than happy to help out.
Gearing wise, I'm not sure what the prefered setup for gearing is at Logan in 21.5t, good bet is to send an email to Dave over at ActionRC (heavy at actionrc.com.au), as he will be able to guide you on ratio's etc, and supply suitable spurs/pinions. He's at the track every meeting too, so is useful to know

As for Serpent parts, honestly, your best bet is to just order them from Walter RC Hobby. Jay is the Serpent Distributor here in Oz, and does a great job with really quick shipping on parts, and normally has a large stock level of parts. If I break something on a weekend (which thankfully rarely happens!) I usually have it in my hand on the following Wednesday. And he responds to emails fast as well. Very highly recommended.

HiH

ok if it 21.5 bl inky you'll have to purchase a @ 63 spur and 38-42- 44 pinion
that's working on rubber tires at 63 mm so need a fan for bigger pinions

Now last warning TEMP TEMP TEMP
all tracks and different speed controls are different.... even in blinky

yes it a pane as the motor retaining screws are covered by the spur as serpent spurs are not quite small enough but its the same for other brands as well

Sport or RTR is the question...

They both seem good. I know I can buy a team kit but the RTR and Sport seem like great values.

They are great value!

But it depends on what you are going to race, as that might need you to buy specific electronics? Which races or just club driving?
But i'd buy the Sport, and then get hold on some used electronics. it will properly be more costly, but you will also get better equipment for racing.
