Patto, a couple of questions

What is the hole size of serpent pistons?
the lower block spacing on the front, is it 0.5mm FF and 3.0mm RF block?

You also have a very large split in springs, 13lb to 19.5lb seems huge, have you tried closer spring rates?

firstly, i will measure the holes for you.
yes that is FF 0.5 and RF 3mm.
Springs i tried kit, i changed the setup quite a bit, and a couple of weekends ago i put the kit springs back on the rear. just made it too twitchy for me.
i have just arrived, soem HPI Silvers to try, possibly this weekend if i feel i may need to try them. different track this weekend, so what normally works up in perth, sometimes works in Bunbury. but the track is also in reverse this weekend. i dont think i have ever run the track in the opposite direction. i havent put a lap down wiht the 411 there yet also. so new ground allround. just a comparison by feel, the serpent white spring felt harder initially then the silver HPI but then got softer as it was compressed. so totally different progression springs. i will be trying them, as i said, i have a NEW base setup . so i will still be trying some things. but mainly now, i think it will be shock setups.

yes you can how ever when you need to tighten the back motor mount screw you will need to remove the motor mount once you have set the mesh and tighten the front the motor mount screw

Thanks for your reply.

I have tested my car with 6 screws on top deck on Sunday. Still using my 2.5mm chassis. I don't feel that much different on cornering but just tiny little bit easier to drive as you can throw your car into the turns with higher speed.

I found there is a problem with unscrew top deck for the flex, the screw holes on the top deck are so close to the edge and easy to get crack. I got 1 light crash with another car, just 1 light crash, and now my front screw holes (closer to center 2 holes) are having some very fine cracked hair line, I think it will break after few more pack runs.

Its rather funny when u remove all screws as the top deck can rock back and.forth over the bottom deck. Handling wise it is the same.as any car with too much flex, loads of.understeer.

piston holes seem to be either 0.9 or 1mm.

Well I just got my kit and I've started the build. I must say Serpent has done a nice job on this kit, very high quality... I do have one question, is there a way to change ackerman on this car?

Brad the 411 uses a flipped block for the rear of the front arms. With that in mind 3mm on a flipped block is.equal to 0mm on a normally orintated block.

Cheers Rocko, that clicked to me last night, same as Tammy.

Patto - Unlikely the holes would be sub 1.0. The old Serpent / Xray plastic shocks used 1.0 holes, so likely to be 1.0

The 4 hole piston sounds like something interesting to play with.

I just change mine from 2mm to 2.25. I build my car with 2mm chassis and just want to try the different with the 2.25. The 2mm have a bit more steering but not very stable at high speed. The 2.25 push at low speed corner but very stable especially on high speed S.... I guess depend on the track layout you run your car at.
