Coned Comm-How much variation is ok?
I remeber reading somewhere that the maximum variation(for good performance) in the diameter of the comm from top to bottom is .0007". Is this true?

how do you adjust them?
mine seems to cut the top half first and only after a few passes it will then go deeper to the bottom half of the comm.
is it the lathes problem cuz i was thinking it might be from the brush contact as it sits on the bottom half of the comm in my motor...so im not sure if its conoing or not.
how do u find out? i dont think i can do it with a caliper accurately(for me atleast)
thanks
