4.2 vs 4.4
I have mine fitted in to a 1/12th pan car but there is a very big difference.
using 4.2 settings were 0,4,5,0 and rollout of 48mm car was fast but very aggressive and motor was hot 88c
loaded 4.4 and settings changed dramatically 0,5,11,0 and rollout of 41.5 car was smoother and punchier and motor temps under 60c.
changing the punch setting to 4 and car was even smoother to drive but just felt it wasnt so fast. HTH.

I am running a 17.5 Ion2 in my touring car on asphalt and I just got this esc back on the exchange program. where is a good place to start as for settings on this esc and motor timing?.Also is the sxx v2 from the exchange program coming with 4.2 or 4.4 ?
Thanks!

Johnn27,
I can not tell you what software you have, unless you hook it up to the PC interface cable.
For 17.5 ION motor I would use the recommended on road settings in the instructions and start with the middle recommended FDR and adjust from there. I would run for a minute temp and do this until you are happy.
That is what I did with my car.
Regards,
Calvin.

i actually switch to 4.4 then back to 4.2 but realized i blew a motor due to high motor timing run that motor at zero and temp after a minute it only took 4 to blow mine up a lot different from tekin not as much rip but totaly smooth if they figure out how to get power down the straight this speedo would be awesome i will test 4.4 this weekend

I'm interested in purchasing one of these bad boys for my 1/12 scale to run mod. I have three questions.
1) What is the lowest turn motor for 1/12 scale 1s racing? I read @ Syndrome's rcprogear.com site that Kevin Hebert was running a 4.0 but the LRP website indicates that the SS V.2 can only handle down to 4.5.
2) When will they be available in the U.S.A. again? It appears no one currently has them in stock.
3) Is this now going to be the "choice" speedo for 1/12 mod in comparison to the other LRP speedos?
Thanks, Chris

availability
Widely available in the Uk, think its too fast for you guys over the pond , but associated are given out all these free ones so none left to sell. I wonder how many they have exchanged.

As previously stated, the most recent batch was used for the LRP Exchange program here in the US. I believe when the next batch arrives, there will be some for sale. I think that was a pretty cool deal by LRP and Associated and worth the wait. If I am wrong about any of this then somebody from associated can correct me but this is what I read and seems logical.

I love mine so much, I've got another (and the USB cable) on backorder. I think the Tekin still might have the edge on bigger tracks, but I'm not positive. Plus, if you gain .1 in speed, and lose .2 in drivability, plus you add a 50% greater risk of blowing out when you boost weird in the infield, the choice is easy.
