Do you have the Stock Spec v2? I don't think it's available for sale in the states yet, how'd you get it?

Scott is right, the SXX-SS v2 with 4.4 and the x12 was super fast in ABQ this weekend. Scott and Keven made a manwich out of Haynes who was running a Tekin and nobody seemed to have issues with speed.

Does anyone have a setting for the LRP SXX StockSpec V2 with a 21.5 X-12. I am after what settings for Mode 2 and 3 and a FDR.

At present running 5 and 5 with a FDR of 4.3 just wanted to know if somebody had a better setup. This will be a for a large track with three hairpins. My temp was 141F and am presently not using a fan. I do not know what SW/FW is on the speedie, so it will have what it came with and using the four dot insert.

I am running it as an open timed speed controller.

I have it fitted in a MI4LP.

Regards,

Calvin.

Do not have the stock version , it is the original LRP ESC V2 they release last year ...

Even if Scott & Cody says they are best they have ever experience , I can't trust and will not purchase untill Lrp stands by the first V2 Esc & motor's I purchase originally....

Still waiting ....

Oh, so you're complaining about some other ESC not related to this thread. Now I understand.

For anybody else reading this thread, it's about version 2 of the SXX STOCK SPEC which seems like it might be awesome.

It's LRP's fault, but this is not the thread to discuss it since you are not using the SXX StockSpec V2 ESC.

Take it to the appropriate thread, maybe PM burito??

Had my first run with the SXX Stock Spec V2 tonight in my single cell 1/12 scale onroad car. It sets up the same way as the V1, but the maps are so different that it took some work to get the system to be happy.

Motor - 17.5T LRP X-12 4 Dot timing Single cell rotor
ESC set to 1,5,7,0
Rollout at 2.75 inches

Final Temp was 116 deg.

Car was a winner. I have been getting it handed back to me pretty regularly by the local fast Tekin guy. Tonight was a different story. Finally equaled his fast lap. Didn't Tq due to wrecks. He ran his fast lap on lap 2. I ran mine on lap 16. Had superior infield rip.

Motor ran hot on the even # boost settings. Temps were more inline when running the odd # boost settings. Feel settings were different than V1 as well. Throttle range did not change when moving to the higher settings. Acceleration increased when moving to the higher Feel setting.

I learned a lot when refering to the manual that came with the ESC. The discussion about Feel and Booster were very helpfull. This LRP product is very competitive and doesn't need a receiver pack on single cell.

Anyone selling one of these, or even a version 1. Please PM me.

Thanks,
Steve

I'm not sure what version software you have but there have been updates after the speedo came out that fix the cogging problems.

Thumbs up

I have to say that I am very happy with the Ver 2 SXX Superstock speed controller, which I used with a LRP X 11 21.5 in boosted mode to win this class at the AARCMCC Muchmore ACT Titles this weekend.

The motor temped at 154F after six minutes and the power delivery was very smooth. I will admit some luck went my way, however I did manage one win, a second and a fourth.

Speed controller performed very well, with excellent acceleration of the start and no cogging at all.

I have not updated the speed controller since I purchased it and I am still refining my settings.

Thanks LRP.

Caltek, I have a few questions.

did you ever use the v1 stock spec? any performance difference?

did you give up any top end to the tekins, Hw's?

what fdr did you end up using for 21.5?

1. No, never used a V1

2. Tekins were 2 and 3rd. On the day I was lucky that the TQ man had some bad luck, which assisted with my results, so I would use my figures purely as a guide. However top end speed was similar, however I should have run a higher FDR possibly as on the shorter parts of the track, the car took a little longer to ramp up, than the others using a higher FDR, (lower rollout). This would have made the car quicker point to point.

3. FDR around 4 and rollout approx 50mm.

This was in boost mode on a large open track with three 180 degree turns.

I still need to do more testing to find a better setup, but was pleased with these results.

The best thing to do is use the motor type guide in the LRP instructions and then test. I started with using the 17.5 TC guide and working from there. I also ran dual fans on the motor.

Calvin.
