Default Switching Stock arms with Stock Cans

What are your thoughts?

An example would be a Monster can with a P2K2 arm.

Is it cheating? Is it still stock racing? Does your track allow it?

Just curious what everyones views on this are.

For the record,

I think its cheating, I dont think it should be allowed in stock racing and my home town track does not allow it but a track I have been running at seems to be on the fence about it.

Are you talking like monster arm in a monster can?. Cause there is no problem with that. But if your talking a monster arm in a P2K can, thats illegal.

That would not be legal per ROAR rules.

switching one stock armature to another can is called hybrids....

like u say p2k arm in a monster can, is a hybrid....

it is not legal in any organisation,,.,stock is just that.. u can not change the motor in any way.. runit how u buy it...

everyone keeps trying so many things to make a stock motor faster.. they are not meant to be fast.. if u want to swap arms for more speed, go modified...

armatures are tagged now to... these tags make it easier to tech.. so they know what arm goes in each can

Most tracks that Iv'e seen don't seem to mind, for just club races.....usually It's been the same deal with the (non-roar legal) binary quad mag stock motors.....in my experience, no matter what you switch around with any of the currently available stock motors......the benifits are not enough to make much difference anyway.......

Yeah I completely agree that it is cheating.

Its amazing how many people openly cheat these days....

Read this thread....

If you race at St. Catts people are applying that everyone cheats there by doing this, and in other places near there....http://www.wnyrcinfo.com/site/module...er=asc&start=0

At my track changing arms and cans is completly allowed at this point. So are quad magnets. The basic mood here is it doesn't make enough difference for anyone to really care. Plus the people who run the track couldn't tell the difference if they tried....

I've tried P2k and P2k2 arms in monster cans, and the other way around and they've sucked for me....

A note is that we've only been racing off road so far, when carpet racing heats up things might change around here.

Redline needs to follow more of a ROAR outline of the guidelines....

I know when I visit there, I run STOCK per ROAR rules.

It's a great facility.
How many hobby shops have 4 tracks.
2 Indoor carpet
1 Indoor offroad
1 outdoor offroad

All located inside one of the biggest malls in So. IL.

Plus, Fred's a nice guy.

Weather we follow ROAR rules, or at least some rules needs to be decicded on IMO. Currently the rule for stock is "27 turn" with no other information given. I know there have been some guys who have been running P-94 brushes and brush hoods in their stock motors, along with hybrids of course, heck it wouldn't surprise me if some people have bearings....

Most of "us guys" who are usually near the top of the charts are completly legal, but as you go further down its the people who are slower drivers that feel the need to "push" the rules.
