i also talk t a guy from rc driver.. he said some guys in cali were doing speed runs with micros.. upwards of 40+.. he said all of them had major problems keeping the foam n the rims...

they tried every kind they could get.. and the foam still exploded off....

also lift off was a problem to....

these speed guesses just dont cut it
I'm using the vsm till I hit higher speeds, then I'll get a radar gun. The vsm is about 2mph off while radar is 1+mph off. So for now it is accurate. But probably not for the higher speeds. The test for the vsm was done by xtreme rc mag.

I have loads of downforce, too much I think, so lifting isn't an issue for my car. As for tires, I guess I got a good set. Do you have a link to the other micros?

can u post some pics up close of your mini??? i want to see how u have the speed meter hooked up.. i also looked on there site..

how did u calibrate it to your car???

it says u need to do this to get accurate reedings... in order to calibrate it u need a correct speed to start with.. right???? how did u test the initial speed...

and please post pics not vids of how it is hooked up on your mini



lifiting has nothing to do with down force...

lifting occours when to much air gets under the chassis.. and causes lift.. no body can keep air from under the chassis.. thats why 10th scales lifted

Alright, I'll get some. Also, I recalibrate it as the tires wear, so it always gets an accurate reading.

and why dont any of your vids work properly???

how did u do the first calibration to make it read accurate????

also the more your tires wear the slower the top speed... your final drive ratio changes and the tires change size

The videos don't every load right, I don't know why though.

Also to calibrate the vsm, you need to mount the magnet (I drilled a hole in the h-hub about half the depth of the magnet, and glued the magnet in it.), the you need to mount the sensor no more than 3mm away from the magnet (mine is 1.5 to 2mm away). You then align the magnet with the sensor, and roll the car till the magnet makes one full rotation. Then you look at the ruler that sould be sitting next to the car and see how far it took to do one full rotation.

I know tires wear and you loose speed, that's why I recalibrate it often.

how about a picture of the speed meter after a run...


show the car go by.. then drive over and the body comming of.. then zoom in.. not just a shot of the meter... this way we can see what the meter shows

PRS now makes a 60 toth pinion... if u want top speed thats what u should run.. 1 to 1 ratio..... there like 5 bucks

burbs.....

lifting has everything to do with downforce. There will always be air under the chassis, but as long as the downforce is greater, then the "UP" force, lifting won't occur. Downforce and "lifting are just two forces working against each other. They are directly related.

im sorry if i didnt state if properly... with the size of the car and the amount of under chassis air, the downforce at that speed will not be great enough......



10th scale speed cars. have super high downforce bodies.. 2 wings.. and alot more weight and surface area keeping them planted... yet at a certain speed it still gives out....


all it take is one unsteady gust and it goes up..
