I think this is how fast I think my micro is.. no radar gun or anything, just mee..

micros big block is a 300 sized motor, 30k
about 25 -30 mph
with tuned 300 32-35k
around 30-35 mph
my fastest rewinded tuned 300 40-43k
not sure how fast, but its really fast !
--------------------------------------------------

now thats only a size 300 motor, what if you put a 540 motor with regular sized sub cs instead of 2/3s a cells... imagine a 9turn on a micro, around 50 somthing ks and also gearing is waaay higher...like they run like 35 tooth pinnions and i only run 13tooth pinnions given both the same spurgear size. This is just what ajg is doing. I dont know if he really did do 80 mph, but for some reason, I just believe its really possible. Sounds crazzy , but I think its really possible.
I dont know, I jsut wish I had money to afford a 540 conversion, so I could give it a try..

at the end of this vid are micros with 300 motors at socal. i think theyre going about 25-30 mph about same speed as a stock 1/10

Wow.. I think it says that one of the micro did 84km/h with 10t motor, 30t pinion and 7 cells... or was it the other micro that did that?

dk: you have a spot welder and a proper balancer?

I don't need to own a micro to know its limitations......heck I already know that they are fast r/c cars. But 80 mph? Somewhere common sense, and high school science should tell you otherwise.
First, the car is too small to travel up to 80 mph without covering a heck of alot of distance. Then by adding more batteries will cause it to have more weight, that is more work for the motor, not to mention the change of weight will also effect the suspension.

You know what? Forget it. I have been trying to tell you a lot of stuff and you still stuck on the fact that it can be done on a straightway. Kid......you need a track to do this on because that micro won't see 80 from a dead start! cliff Lett didn't hit 110 mph on a drag run, it was done by doing laps! You don't have the radio range to accomplish what you want! you only have a little over 300ft. with a brand new radio. You have to have your micro up to 40 mph in under 150 ft. That means from a dead start, your car will reach about 35 mph (giving you the benefit of your car being fast) by the time it reaches 150 ft. look, 150 feet isn't as long as you may think it is. You want 80? Put it on a high banked oval like Veladrome, and it would be possible. On you street? It'll never see it. Trust me..........
You can't know its limitations without one, just like I don't know the limitations of your heli. Also, how is the car too small? And everything covers the same distance at 70mph. As for the motor, it has no problem moving the car, and when you add more weight with more cells, you get more volts too, so it's faster. Also, how are rc dragsters hitting 80+ mph in 132 feet. You don't need a velodrome!!!! Also, DaNieL_KuO, I'm not 15 years old.

...Yet.
The things you say make you sound younger.
I think 80mph is possible with a Micro, but I would think that it would take more knowledge and thought aswell as calculations than what you have shown...
You should have had a video done before you started your claims, I think it would be cool to see a Micro really go that fast. So hurry up and get that video to prove your self right if you can really get it that fast!

ever heard of law of diminishing returns? I'm sure you can strap on 100 cells, getting 120V, but there will be a point where your motor will no longer be performing optimally due to TOO much voltage, and with additional weight, you'll just need THAT much more HP to move the additional weight. If that was the case, we'd see insane speed runs with 100 cells, not 20. I beleive they were using 2/3 C cells, just to REDUCE weight. And your comparison to a RC drag car is invalid. It's not a micro. It's a purpose built car to go in a straight line, powered by insane motors. Everything covers same distance in 70mph, true, but you're missing the fact that you're trying to do it with a micro, with its micro tires and gear ratios. Do some google search on this thing called 'rotational speed' your tiny tires needs to spin at expotential speed of some of the larger tires to acheive same 'measured' speed.

Like I said in earlier post, go OPEN A PHYSICS book! You can explain till you're blue in the face, but let's face it. You CAN NOT over come laws of physics. You're now really starting to sound even more clueless.

Dude,

1. r/c dragsters are 1/10 scale and up ........

2. at 1/10 scale, they have a longer wheelbase than 1/10 scale
TCs and pan cars, plus they are designed to hold up to 20 cells. There is no ESC, and you gotta have 2 micro (helps shave weight)or standard size servos and a micro switch. Power is supplied to the reciever via 3 to 5 watch batteries to help lose weight. The voltage from 10 cells alone wiil knock you on your butt, and we're not talking you sub-c batteries either. Also, the motors are hand wound, 9 turn (and below)cobalt magnet motors, costing about 100 bucks and up to own.

3. your micro does not have the same wheelbase and width of a TC, let alone a electric dragster, therefore you will have issues with handling. You will be stupid to add a handwound 9 turn motor without chewing up your diffs and pinions when you punch the throttle. (R/C dragsters don't have a rolling start, they launch from the line at a dead stop.) Dragsters can do 80+ because the techonology is there for that type of platform. I can go on and on with this.........

4. How do I know this? That is because I put a Bolink Funny car Dragster into a curb @ about 70 mph in front of all my friends because of a stupid pebble and a soon after over correction. Destroyed all the equipment, including a 150 dollar Black Magic 8T single drag motor! That was long ago, I am over that!

I just can't wash my hands of this yet........

I hope that you have dual rates for that radio.:

I am sorry, but if I hear you say rewinded again, I am gonna have to pull my hair out....

It's rewound....not rewinded......

And I can pretty much guarantee your rewound motors are more than likely not running at their optimal levels. When you wind a motor, you need certain equipment to make sure stuff is correct....when you rewind a motor, the need for this equipment becomes even more important. A proper balancing machine cost a couple grand at least, if not more.

"but it will do it cuz I said so, and you guys don't know cuz you don't have micros."

But some of us have degrees in mechanical engineering and we say it won't do it and would love to see proof if you say it can.

Let's see the video!

I absolutely love this thread. Sounds like ajg tried out racing and found that he wasn't a really good driver. So, he got into the micros to make himself feel good about something. So, give him a chance to get his parts and pride!

Actually I raced 1/10 and won almost everytime, so I desided to go to micros because there was better competition and I liked micros more at that time. Even the people watching the races were getting bored of watching me race, because I won everytime.

Also, the connectors shipped yesterday, so they'll be here soon.

Yep, he's got too much energy. Also, didn't you say going down hill won't make the car faster?

What? you don't know that your motor is going to allow to to travel as fast as it allows? e Same principle even going downhill........

So what TC you had?

Why you stopped racing?

Where is your TC now?

I been at this for nearly 18 yrs. I sold only one car since. the rest either went to the junk yard or In my storage room. Got a Hyperdrive in there now, with no tires!
