Default GEN Ace LIPO Batteries

I bought one of the GEN ACE 5000mah 40c in early Dec to try out. I was skeptical of some of the recent hype but figured for the price might as well give them a try. I've owned Orion, TP, IP and tested Hyperion, Reedy, SMC, along with some others. I do not have an advanced battery tester. I simply go by lap-times, which I feel is still the number one dyno. Because lap-times do not lie, I have always tended to fall back to a trusty but 2+ year old IP 3800mah 35c pack when I really wanted a good run as it always performed a step above all the rest for me.

What I've found with the GEN ACE pack is it has matched the power of the my IP 3800 producing the same fast lap and has more power at the end of the run resulting in a faster run by a few seconds.

After a month of hard use, there are no signs of the pack falling off or puffing. I have been balance changing at a full 2c (10amp) TP 610C. The cells have been coming off the track from runs within .003-.008v of each other, even when doing long runs where I take out about 80% of the capacity and drop the cells to around 3.4v. I think this shows the cells are well matched and performing the same. I have had much more expensive packs that could not do that.

Overall, I am very pleased with the GEN ACE batteries and wanted to share my experience. Simply because I feel that many of companies out there charging excessively much and over rating their numbers more so than I have ever seen in the past 23 years I've participated in the hobby. While I cannot confirm the numbers printed on the labels the GEN Ace packs I can attest that they are performing very well for me.

hobbypartz.com

I think they are sold out of most all the packs right now. I talked to GEN Ace regarding it and they said more in on a container that was shipped middle to late Dec so any day probably should have more.

hobbypartz.com shows the gen ace roar approved 5000s back in stock as of this morning. I ordered two for me. Get them while you can, they usually only stay in stock for a day or two, then wait another month for more stock.

I Run the GEN ACE lipo for the first time today I have notice it does have more punch than my TP lipo for $34 this pack can perform. Now if I have just the right tire today it would be even better. it was like 60 degrees outside track temp only got up to 46 degree I run 32's a little too hard for the cold weather so traction is pretty bad I can't really get on the throttle with the extra punch the packs gives me it's hard to get the rear end not getting loose. Overall nice quality packs.

I just ordered my first gen ace batteries, well one for me and one for my brother's birthday. I currently run a short from perfect Reedy 5000mah 35c and am having pretty good luck with it. But it is getting pretty warm at the end of a 5 minute practice run in my Custom Works Rocket latemodel with a Tekin Rs and a speed passion v3 10.5 boosted pretty hard. It doesn't get hot, I just don't like my battery being hotter than my speedo lol (which is rarely over 85-90*F never over one light). I was first interested beacause of the hard case with bullet plugs and the 5000 40c rating, then I noticed the price. After reading this thread I am confident I made a good choice!

A.warm.pack.has more power than when it.is.cold.so.the heat (within reason) is not a bad thing. I have a couple of.these.packs.and.so.far they are.weapons. Of note.is ths.stupid low.IR numbers I get on my charger. Can't be a bad thing.

I ordered another battery pack to. I'm interested in seeing if it has similar performance as the one I got. I think a sign of a good manufacture is one that can keep their performances consist from batch to batch.
